Hi Everyone,
Since I'm a new member I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. I'm Joshua Ransom from Unadilla Georgia (since this is a town that if you blink you'll miss it, to give you an idea of it's location, it's about 15min south of Perry Ga the site of the big Peach Blossom Cluster Dog Show each year in April). Although my family has owned a Doberman most of my life I am a newbie at conformation. I own a 4yr old black male UKC BIS AKC Ch. Scotsbrae Back To The Future CGC (Deacon) that finished easily with VERY limited showing (currently showing him in obedience and have 2cd legs each w/a first place finish) and a black bitch Scotsbrae Tigress Woods AKC Ptd. UKC BIS (Tigre)..(attaching a pic of Tigre from the 08 national). I train my dogs myself and use a handler as needed. I also own an Australian Cattle Dog that i use regularly to work cattle (although a very nice dog he hates the show ring and much prefers working to showing). I also own Tennessee Walking Horses and am an avid trail rider, a few other hobbies are backpacking, and music festivals. I've known of this site for sometime and always find the discussions informative and often times entertaining, I look forward to being able to take part!

Joshua,
Welcome to DSNN. Lovely bitch! She is by Ch Ravenswoods Azure Sky, but what is her dam line? Is she related to your dog through the dam line? There is a lot to like about her.

Thanks everyone! I'll try to get some more pics up as soon as possible. Unfortunately, my dog isn't the most photogenic so i'll see what I can find of him. Thanks for your compliments on my bitch. Yes, she is sired by "Blue" (Ch. Ravenswoods Azure Sky). Her dam is an Eddie daughter out of a bitch tightly linebred on Ch. Scotsbrae Wrangler UDT ROM (BIS Tolivers Boo Radley Dob Man x BIS Ch. Scotsbrae Fallen Angel). She's a very fun dog and the epitome of the word bitch. She is related to my dog through her dam line. My dog is sired by a son of Ch. BJF The Comedy of Errors (Ch Platinums Back in Black x Ch. Kansas Intoxication V Aquarius) x Wrangler Daughter and out of a line bred Wrangler bitch. He's a VERY VERY moderate 27 1/4 dog w/lots of bone, nice movement solid topline good muscling, not the most stylish dog out there or the most elegant but a consummate showman who loves being in the ring. Thanks again for the warm welcome and compliments; I look forward to getting to know each of you.

Found a couple pictures of my dog. As I said, he's just not that photogenic (all of his win pictures are AWFUL). Anyway, maybe you can get some idea of what he looks like. Obviously I'm screwing his neckset up in the one pic, but did like the way it showed how square he is and the nice muscling in the rear.

Joshua,
Welcome to DSNN… love the photos… when do you plan to have Tigre back in the ring? And when do you plan to breed her, and to whom? What’s your vision for her?
Also, would love to hear more about the Tennessee Walking Horses (and see photos). We hear so many great things about their temperaments, willing minds and athletic versatility.

Thanks again everyone. I didn't mean to ignore your questions Elaine but I was in NC at the Concord shows and didn't bring my laptop. As far as breeding Tigre, I'm not really sure who we will choose and frankly it's a decision that will rest largely with her breeder. At this point i'm limiting my vision to her finishing. I do plan to work toward getting an ROM on her and possibly work her in agility. You asked about the Walkig Horses. They really are an awesome breed and incredibly versatile. Unfortunatley the TWHBEA (parent association) has done an awful job up until recent years of promoting the horse for the versatile pleasure and performance horse it can be. Most people think of TWH's as only the high stepping padded show horses, but they truly are a do it all breed and have successfully competed in most any venue. I'm most attracted to them because of the comfortable gait and the docile nature of the breed. This is due in large part because of their history as a breed perfected by plantation owners as a means of overseeing their property and workers on a comfortable, stylish, and dependable mount. They really are like the cadillacs of the horse world.
