From what I hear, Nico is huge, ready to pop... looks like she swallowed a watermellon or two. :rolleyes::eek::p:D Janice and I usually speak several times a day. Lately I don't call so much, and everytime I don't hear from her for even a few hours I assume it's because of puppies...:rolleyes: :) but so far... nada. :o So I've been playing in Photoshop...

I won't get anything done!, I check Lil' Claire's thread and read the posts and look at pictures a couple of times a day, now I'll be checking your posts & pictures too !!! Oh well, I can't think of anything I would rather do than look at "dober-babies", and read of their daily progress and antics !

As most of you realize about now, things did not go well yesterday. :( The last I heard from Janice was at about midnight… she and Roger and Nico were at the vet’s. They had just finished doing a c-section, Nico was okay, but they had just lost two more boys. So if my math is correct, there were eight puppies total… two girls, six boys. As of midnight last night, three boys are alive ( a red and two black).

Janice and Roger are grieving... heck, we're all grieving... it is one of those situations were Mother Nature had a different plan then the rest of us.

From what I could tell, the vet is saying that the first born boy (the red male that was crying quite a bit), had an infection… and that is what negatively impacted the rest of the puppies. Janice may exlpain this in more detail later... or she may not be able to speak of this for some time. The first born red puppy was given an antibiotic. I have not heard from Janice since midnight, so I am not even sure if this first born red boy is going to make it. But last I heard, the two black boys are strong.

As I sit here, I have no explanation for any of this… it is just plain sad. Best I can offer is this is all part of the flow of life, part of some greater plan… that someday will make sense to us… cause it sure doesn’t now.

Give your kids a hug and a kiss, they are all precious miracles.

Seems to me that there are two things we can focus on here:
1. that we love Roger and Janice and care deeply about what they are going through; and
2. that there are puppies to go forward with and tomorrow will be a brighter day.

Yesterday, while I was on the phone with Janice I took this photo of Brentina (Tungsten’s sister)… in the photo Ahb is on her way to check out what Arthur is doing with the mares in the barn. When I see this photo I think about what it means that I can even take the photo… it is really about sticking to commitments and long-term goals despite all the twists and turns in the road that god has laid out for us. Roger and Janice will find a path through this sad time

These boys are a gift in our eyes, they are very strong, with a strong will to live.

As Elaine has told everyone Nico, Roger and I had a hard time just getting these 2 boy. We have been tube feeding them, thank God they were not born in the wild.

We do not want to talk about the day they were born, it is just a really bad chain of events. But we were blessed with Czar and Simba.:):)

We been having snow storms almost every week, and there is another one coming for next weekend.:( We have a wood burner in the living room and we are toasty worm.

Mom's sweet face. Looking at her with her sweet little baby makes me feel good. She looks like she is a wonderful mother. Things happen for a reason I guess but I sure don't know why.
