I don't know how you did what you did... but it works for me. :) The photo gets large when you click on it... :) Love the expression in her face... what a lovely girl. But Santa looks a bit feminine... is he a "she.":D

My nephews went to see Santa recently. They requested a puppy for Christmas. Santa replied, "Sorry, I dont give live animals."

If mom and dad had the intention that “Santa” was bringing your nephew a puppy, then that response would be problematic… but I strongly support the underlying message. Live animals should not be given without the knowledge, consent and active participation of the receiver. A living animal requires years of commitment, to provide love, training and a healthy environment. A living animal is not like a toy - which can be purchased on impulse and discarded when the original fascination wears off.
Also, Christmas Day would be about the worst possible day to bring a young puppy into a home - because of all the chaos and excitement of the day. Even the AKC advises that people wait till a calmer time (either well before or after Christmas) to bring a young puppy into the home.
Parents have a responsibility to shape the values their children have. Respect for life and the importance of the commitments we make to living animals are values worth imparting to children. They can be conveyed by the thoughtful manner the parents show regarding the acquisition of a dog. In this instance the child would benefit from understanding that the addition of a dog should be a well considered “family decision” that puts the puppy's best interests well above other considerations.

Elaine, I agree.....but since santa is a complete lie, I believe this imposter could have told a more delicate lie to a child. I am quite certain that if "santa" had said that there is a shortage of puppies and the chances were slim of getting one my nephews probably would not have been as heart broken.
I just keep seeing the scene from "A Christmas Story." "You'll shoot your eye out kid!" "I don't deliver live animals kid!"
It's a lie anyways....at least tell one to the kid that won't make him/her cry.

...but since santa is a complete lie, ...
Andy, I checked the Rules and Regs, Chapter 12: Section 35, Subparagraph 32. You simply can not make that announcement here… you’ll get coal in your stocking if you do. :(
But since you've brought it up... after all is said and done, do you think it's a good or bad lie?

Santa used to be a good lie. Now not so much....all about the money unfortunately.

Maybe the best part of Santa is that it’s a time when just about everyone in the whole world tries to think of others… of what will make the ones we love happy. That can be about money… but it doesn’t have to be. A gift from a true and loving heart doesn’t have to cost a dime.
And a gift from a rodent is crap, no matter how it's packaged.
