Your photos don’t always load for me… I see one here… of a Black Shadow Dog which you have titled “Sunny Boy from South Africa.” Felipe is a black dog against a black background… my eyesight is not what it was, I can not even tell for sure he’s a "he" (if you know what I mean ;)). Tell us about this boy… about his breeding... and how you came to have a stacked photo of a dog from South Africa. Btw, hHe’s pretty short backed for what we see from Black Shadow.

Haha,Sorry Elaine, I made a hard job for your eyes, Felipe is a lovely boy, he come from Black Shadow and came to China in 2008, We want to get some good things from the South Africa's pedigree that is why we import him to China. We like his short back, square body, dry and strenght.

Felipe's pedigree:

Michelle,

I've been wondering how the heck the dog went from South America to South Africa and then to China, when it hit me, by South Africa do you mean South America?

As for Felipe. I agree he is short backed, square, and dry… I’m guessing that the short backed and square is coming through his dam line, yes?

Cindy may have played a role in that short back.

Cindy may have played a role in that short back.

Interesting… she is by Baden Baden Cash and so is the dam sire. Is she on Dobequest? To my eye, in his make and shape, Felipe really does not favor his sire Inaqui much at all.

Eva being out of Inaqui and a freight train of a dam is suprisingly short backed. I would say Eva favors Cindy. The rear and topline of felipe is similar to Eva's. i.e. short and a slight roach to it. That's not to say baden baden cash is not a significant influence. I want to say that there is mikadobe dog sired by inaqui that is short backed. It has been so long since I really looked at his progeny I could be wrong.

If you look at Felipe’s pedigree you see that he is doubled on the influence of Baden Baden Cash. I can’t recall the Baden Baden Cash dog, and I’m too lazy to go look him up on Dobequest, so I am just commenting in a general way here (and if we took the pedigree back further we’d probably see more influences), but at the very least we see Baden Baden Cash as Cindi’s sire and as the dam's sire's sire. Given that Felipe is the product of his pedigree, and something the pedigree had a stronger influence than his sire Inaqui, I would guess that it was the dog he’s doubled up on.

ahhh....I didn't even notice Baden Baden Cash and totally spaced it as he being cindy's sire. good catch Elaine.

No problem, I edited your first post on this thread so that the title is now correct for South AMERICA. :)
