If you peruse websites and ads, you see dogs posed like this…. I often wonder, what do people think they are showing with this kind of shot? Here is a photo of CH. Logres' Titanium, taken on August 6, 2006, by Miguel Betancourt of Infocus by Miguel. The hand in the photo belongs to Lance Deloria. We paid for this photo shoot, but we never used any of the photos. I don’t think Miguel will mind us using one photo here. It is an example of a dog with not much forechest appearing to have lots because he is sitting.
Maybe we should all show our dogs sitting. ;)
Btw, I included both the original unretouched photo and one I retouched by speinding a few minutes in Photoshop, to fix a few things and removed the lettering. You can see that I was very sloppy about how I took the lettering off Titan's forechest, I did not blend in his coat color, which varies depending upon how the light hits him (though I did not alter his forechest). I think it's a good idea to talk about what Photoshop can do for our perception of dogs we think we like.
