We are about to have another new member from Taiwan, currently working / living in Xiamen, China. Mr Chu is an architect and interior designer and of course a Doberman enthusiasts.
In March 2009, along with our member Michelle Sheng, Mr Chu jointly established China's first Web site a Doberman Pinscher Club, "Doberman Society of China-Dobeschina."
I think we’ve all seen what a valuable addition to DSNN Michelle had been, I am sure Mr. Chu will also contribute interesting insight and knowledge as well. Who knows, in time we all may learn their language as well as they have learned ours. :)
DSNN feels privileged to have these new members and looks forward to years of dialogue, exchanging information, with the hope that we can better understand each other and the passion we share.

Internet really amazing, is also a translator.
I am very concerned about this forum, because it is not just from Doberman very progressive development, but also a high-level exchange of culture, I believe that to stay in this place will be a pleasant experience.
Thank you and blessings!

Welcome Mr. Chu.
I was reading up on Taiwan the other day. What is the general consensus about the recent arms deal made with the U.S.?

A thought, this is a forum for discussing Dog Show related topics, which of course includes information about shows, venues, judging policies, handlers, AKC policies, Breed club policies, and how to identify and breed good dogs, etc. As you can see, there is a lot of freedom on DSNN, including the freedom to ignore topics that are of no interest to us. Personally, I’d rather be hosting an online dating service than a forum discussing arms deals.
SO Andy, are you dating much these days?

Elaine, if you carefully, CAREFULLY read Mr. Chu's post it states that he views this forum as a cultural exchange that goes beyond dobermans.
I took the opportunity to greet Mr. Chu and asked a question about something that the media has put their own spin on here. I don't live in or around Asia so I don't know how they feel about it. I don't have an opinion about it. Perhaps Mr Chu does, I would love to hear how someone over there truly feels about it. I am really indifferent about it...just curious.
Also this issue could be of interest to someone that is considering selling a Doberman overseas. I am sure that being open-minded you realized that.

Andy,
If you want to know about those things, you can do private e-mail.
Please do not do it on the forums for talking dogs. I sure there are a lot of people here that would not want the whole forum shut down because it went in a direction that it was not intended for!

I don’t mind the question… or the topic, but did it have to be the first question? It’s like inviting someone new into your home for dinner, and the first question you ask is, “So, when did you stop beating your wife?” :o
Maybe we could get to know each other first... talk a bit about the dogs, and then ask about sex, religion and politics. Just a thought.
As for what I've been up to... ain't gonna tell, you'll have to wait for the film version of my life. :p

On "arms procurement" issues. My family's consensus is that
I hope that my budget adequate enough to buy a "secret weapon" to dominate "Jiang Hu" DOGSHOW a hundred years. Every year is Number One. Ha ha ha!:D:D:D
Welcome to DSNN, Mr Chu!
Can you tell us a little about the dog show competitions in China and Taiwan? What is the level of competition - what kinds of classes or categories are there and how many Dobermans generally compete at an average show? Are there many obedience competitors?
I am curious to learn how competitive dog showing in China compares to competition in the USA.
Again welcome to DSNN :)

Moving along!!
Welcome Mr Chu!!
My husband Bob and I look forward to hearing more about you and seeing your dogs.
We would love to hear what your prospectives are about dog showing and Dobermans in China, Taiwan and here in the US.
Respectfully,
Cheryl
BTW....Andy is correct. Mr Chu did actually make the statement that this forum is also very important to "high level cultural exchange".
Clearly, I am not sure how the very specific political deal Andrew is referring to applies here either, BUT if we have suddenly promoted Janice and whomever to the "DSNN CENSORSHIP COMMITEE", let me know. I will send them my posts before actually putting them up.
That way I will not be the cause of the entire Forum being shut down due to having a differing view or in business, what we call, " High Octane" question or comment.

As far as I know, in China there are two more formal and has been internationally recognized or "preliminary approval" of the club, one CKU-china kennel union (http://www.cku.org.cn/), is the only FCI a recognition of China's membership; the other is NGKC-national general kennel club (http://www.ngkc.org/), and the AKC have a "global services" of the cooperation program, but It is understood that AKC does not fully recognize the NGKC The certificate of origin issued by. two each hold about 12 games all-dog race, a race of about 100 ~ 500 entries, the number of participants and more generally in big cities such as Beijing or Shanghai. Doberman dogs in general the number of entries the 10 ~ 40 or so. Currently, China's Doberman Pinscher has not hosted the obedience competitions.
Some of last year's Show video. You can see on the web site "DOBESCHINA" (http://www.dobeschina.com/baodao.asp) ".
I have a 11 Doberman. There are seven live with me, Hero, Amanda, Felipe, Donna, (in the Michelle's issued by the ad. where you can see them) in Xi'an, received the training by Three Shadow Kennel-Guo Wei. Hero is a 2009 No.1 Doberman in China, All Breed Top 2, results were good. In addition, I have started to breed puppies over two Litters, results less than ideal, there is a lot to learn. I believe they are able to successfully complete the title. in the United States.
I do not lead to too many misunderstandings, language and cultural barriers want everyone to understand tolerance.

Great idea, we can have a Censorship Committee (Janice can be in charge of it), and a Hospitality / Welcome Committee (Andy can be in charge), and a Police Force to enforce the rules (Bob) … Mr Chu can be our foreign correspondent, I will head up the Bake Sales and Christmas Crafts Committee, or we can all say what we like, within certain boundaries, and try to be tolerant of our differences. :)

Elaine, I could never be that bold to our guests while sitting at the same dinner table with my wife. She has a wicked backhand.:D This same woman painted my toenails bright red while I was napping on the couch last Friday! True story. No Bob/Cheryl, I did not get any photos. Ah shit, she did take photos on her phone and sent them to my mother and father.
Mr. Chu, please forgive my bluntness in asking a polictically sensitve question.
I had zero ulterior motives, just curious sir.

I recall making this observation at least once before Andy, but your wife either is a saint… or should, at some point, be beatified.
Had a busy day today, lots of things popped up, and at one point I really thought I’d found a house… but it is not the one… :( I have a few more that I am considering… as many of you know, I am a bit past the due date on this farm living life style. :(
In all the goofing around this morning we may have offended a long time DSNN member. If so, I am very sorry about that. I don't think any of us intend to offend each other, but honestly there is no way to express our opinions without disagreeing sometimes. And sometimes we are all a bit blunt. Some are more sensitive to that than others. Of all the posters on DSNN, the one who is by far the most resilient is Andy. He reminds me of the old Timex watch commercials, "‘he takes a licking but keeps on ticking" ... and for that alone he is simply endearing. :)

Mr. Chumi
I must say you have a very witty sense of humor which Cheryl and I enojoy quite a bit. It has allowed you to fit right in here on DSNN. As far as your English goes you have no trouble getting across what you are trying to say, maybe being on DSNN will help you learn a bit more English. Keep the humor coming.
Now do you prefer to be called Mr. Chu or Mr. Chumi or J.H. or should we get rid of Mr. or would like to be called something else a nickname perhaps? My understanding is that in China the family name is listed first then the given name, so that would mean Chumi is your family name and J.H. Chu is your given name right? It is like Yao Ming the basketball player, it would be correct to call him Mr. Yao not Mr. Ming I think. Let us know how you would like to be addressed!!
Also I question for you or Michelle: Is it true that in China the common practice for a woman who marries in to retain her maiden name and not take her husbands name? However if there are children they will have the fathers name is the correct? In college I was a History major so stuff like this interests me.
With Michelle Sheng it is easier as she has it set up like a western name.

:D:D:D
If by "return your wife" you mean go home to her, well she's the one that did it so that was easy. If you meant revenge, I have not yet. I was thinking of super glueing her hand to her face while she is sleeping. Not exacty an eye for an eye, but holy crap that would be funny. If she pulls too hard in her sleep her face will be injured....to some this would icing on the cake. I don't know, I'll think of something. Actually, I probably had it coming to me.
Elaine

Please don’t glue any body parts together… that is just one short step away from how Lorena Bobbit got started…:cool: and we know how that ended up... though I hear they are back together again.

Excellent point. Although I would have had acetone there to quickly remove her hand from her face. "Be prepared".....yes I was a cubscout. Wait a minute, I could put that knot tying to good use. Nah bad idea.

Andy Warhol? Or who said: everyone can famous 5 minutes,
I am a low-key person, and I do not like Andy Warhol very much, and hope that my five minutes ended quickly.
Maybe is another mistake, anyway, please call my nickname: chumi, my Chinese name written in the Chu Jonghua, like Yao Ming, jung-hua is a given name, family name is chu. In China and Taiwan, married women are able to retain their maiden name, take husband's name is freedom of choice. children are generally accompanied by his father's surname.
Tomorrow is the Chinese New Year, Year of the Tiger, which means an endless supply of power of courage and dignity, the Chinese pronunciation of "Tiger-虎HU" with "lucky-福FU" is very similar. Wish you all! FU福-HU虎-SHENG生-FENG豐(rich)! as strong as the tiger has a lucky and rich!

Chumi,
Thanks for the clarification on the name. I do not think there was a mistake, I just wanted to be clear on it and make sure we were not calling you by the incorrect name, which to me would be disrespectful to you.
Happy New Year to you and your Family.....We wish you all the best and hope that the Tiger protects your home and family. Enjoy the celebration!!! Be safe!

It is understood that, 99% of all private voluntary organizations, of course, 1% of that part was missing (you know who is it). However, I found that almost every city, there are folk animal rescue association, and some are with foreign organizations have mutual adoption and assistance activities. it is a warm feeling is that most of my friends who love animals and also keen to help lost or injured animals. from our own idea of starting treatment of animals, can we To improve the situation of animals and this is still optimistic.
