I'm sorry to bother you! Will not call again! Yesterday on the website to see rachael is available, now is not visible. Perhaps those who do not sell dogs to China later in the message can make a notation in parentheses.

Actually Rachael was sold sunday night. I just remembered to take her off of my web site today.

I have some thoughts, not directed against jana!

We respect your country breeding and animal rights in all aspects of achievement. We learn through various channels and the pursuit of that, I believe this is to enhance a positive force.Perhaps the past, China is backward, but the change will happen, not just economic.

Moreover, for the same dog-loving people, I do not think there should be any unfair prejudice.Sell the dog to China were not necessarily snobbish, or they have to promote and share the mind?

In short, we thank all the friendly treatment and assistance!

I did not see the post above that Jana deleted. I assume that it was deleted for some private reason that only Jana knows. That is perfectly fine. DSNN is one place where you can take back what you say... to a degree. :)

Chumi, I am sorry for the prejudices we all seem to have. Far as I know, the only way to dispel prejudices is with education. We could all benefit from better communication, a bit of tolerance, more understanding … and simply getting to know each other. Good things take time. My hope is that we will all come to know each other as individuals… and over time see that we have much in common.

It's funny, but I am considering sending a dog to Germany... and I have to ask myself, why would that be any easier to do than sending a dog to China? Germany has many restrictive laws about animal ownership... they cull litter size at birth... etc. Equines are a crop, and are dealt with like any other crop... which is not necessarily a bad thing… but it reflects a very different cultural attitude towards animals. Why should it be easier to send a dog to Germany than China?

I wonder if we are truly honest even with ourselves about our prejudices.

Chumi and Elaine both bring up great points, as did Akshay and Abe in the "Selling dogs to India" thread. I think Akshay said something to the effect that there are bad owners all over the world and that in the U.S. it is not different, he asked why he should be judged by where he lives and not who he is. Akshay was correct he should be judged by who he is, as should Abe, Chumi and Michelle. Good dog people are good dog people plain and simple!!! However cultural difference and laws etc do come into play.

Now Cheryl and I will never sell a dog to Germany, not ever. The whole idea that they limit litter sizes and randomly kill newborns is barbaric in our minds. Why does it seem easier for most to consider Germany, it is a Western country that most can say they are like us. In reality they have some extreme cultural differences that most do not know about and do not bother to research.

In reality China and India also have cultural differences from the U.S. which is not to imply they are bad just different. Many times different is not understood and conjures up negativity. I would not say China is backward any more than I would say India is backward. I would say they are Different. When you think about India and it's history you must not forget that India was part of the British Empire for a very long time. English is spoken by most and many are Oxford Educated. One must also remember that a skinny little man brought the Empire to it's knees without ever firing a shot. Pretty impressive. The Chinese gave us gun powder, fire works , the noodle..well there is some debate there and if they did invent the noodle the Italians perfected it!!!:p Sorry being Italian I had to work that in.

I think it is in poor taste to be rude and insulting to people from overseas based solely on not understanding their culture and a bunch of whisper down the lane old wives tales and stories that get passed around. Most of those stories have not been researched enough to know if there is any truth to them. I wonder what would happen if all the bad stories about dogs sold in this country were talked about like the ones are from India and China? That is not to say there have not been some horrific things that have happened to dogs that were sold overseas. But have there been horrific things done to dogs that are sold here?

Cheryl and I struggled to send Hannah to Florida and Tala to Arizona because it was "so far away" an this was our first litter. Compared to China or India Florida is walking distance:p! Because of the people and the life that would be provided it became easy to do.

I will not lie and say that we do not have concerns about the governments stance on dog ownership in China, we do. I will not say that we do not have concerns about some things in India we do. I will also say that we have concerns about things in the U.S. as well.

I think having Abe, Akshay, Chumi and Michelle on DSNN helps us understand their countries better, their culture, and we can all learn from each other. I will also say that a breeder must do their homework when placing a dog anywhere to avoid issues.

In closing (then I will get off of my soap box) it is time that we all take a step back and think about what we know, what might be rumor and gossip and judge the person in front of us not an entire country based on a few cases. It is also time for many breeders to stop treating people from other countries like pariah when they contact you about one of your dogs. They are paying you a compliment. One can say no without being insulting and acting they shot your best pig when they try to buy a dog from you.

Cheryl and I have been contacted many times by folks from India and Latin America, we were pleasant and have exchanged emails with many of these people even after we said no. Now if they are rude first then game on. I have to wonder how some can view a person calling to inquiry about a puppy and complimenting your dogs as a slight and carry on about it like they insulted their mother. Crazy if you ask me.

Michelle & Chumi have woken up to a dose of reality - not every breeder in the US is E! or Bob & Cheryl - the cotton wool's been unwrapped and its hurting.

Doberman dogs imported to China's main approach is through brokers, but that is not my style, in addition to high-quality dogs, we also hope to direct contact with the study and build friendships. Although there are some mistrust and misunderstanding, but the As elaine said: good things take time, I believe that one day, and cotton can be turned into beautiful clothes. These wounds will be turned into a beautiful tattoo.

As I said, I did not see the deleted post, but I think part of the problem is the time difference and that many of us get up early and are sound asleep rather early. At least for us, it is easier to get me at 6:00am than 9:00 pm.:) For me, 9:00 pm is a late night call. Also, we have annoying telemarketers here in this country, so regardless of when the call comes, if caller I.D. does not show me who it is, I may not take the call at all. :)

Hey guys, I was not rude when she called me. We had a very nice conversation. I explained that the litter she was inquiring about was not my litter and told her who she would have to contact.
The phone was ringing every 5 minutes and I just asked for that to stop and that I really wasn't able to help them get a puppy from the litter the were asking about. Then my RAchael was asked about. She had already been sold by that time, it took me a couple of days to get her off of my web site as being for sale. Never was anything said about me or my friend with the litter not being willing to ship to China. I don't have anything for sale!! My friend rarely ships puppies anywhere (not even the next state)!!
The last night all the phones calls kept coming (there were 3 nights), I was not even here. My husband was getting irritated that the phone was ringing every few minutes non stop. I knew the person was on this site, altho I didn't remember her user name, and the only way I knew to stop the calling was to ask on this site for the person (who's name I did not know) to please stop and explained again that I could not help them with the Trotyl X Hannah litter.

Thanks... this time difference can really be a bit of a problem. :)
