It is hard to believe that Caye is 5 today....The time has flown by so quickly for my heart boy..... To have brains, proper temperment, great conformation all in one red boy package is a true gift..... I thank his breeder Don Holder for trusting me with this boy and Phil for Stat and his passing on so much to this boy. We recently retired him from the conformation ring and will be in the obedience ring by fall. Have to get through the last ankle surgery and he and I will be good to go and earn his ROM..... Love this boy........

Congratulations on your beautiful boy and all the best with his new career in obedience.
Btw, have you seen the photos of the Stat - Macie litter? I think Macie is a littermate to Garbo and Rush. The puppies are only 4 weeks in the photos I saw, but those are some VERY nice puppies. I think Paula may be getting a bitch from the litter. It looks like the breeding really clicked. Sometimes a great dog isn’t well appreciated in his time (often because of the politics of the ring)… I think it might be a good time to take a second look at Stat and what he produces. He is one hell of a sire. :)

I haven't seen the pictures Elaine....I was talking to him when the call came in for the puppies. I'm in for a breeding that is coming up so I'm waiting a bit longer. I understand they are great puppies....Whoever gets a Stat pup is very lucky indeed. He has so much to pass on that is hard to find a place to start.....So Paula will be lucky with her girl, I'm sure. I'll be jealous since I will still be waiting for my girl....
Politics is a bad word with me....I learned very early.....You know you have something good when they start stabbing you in the back......Circulating lies and trying to put you down.....I'm totally new in conformation and tend to sit back and be a fly on the wall....I don't like what I see for the most part and I don't fit into that crowd. Stat is one great male....I saw a picture of him and knew I needed a pup from him and that is just what I did, I searched for a good breeding with him. Caye was actualy gotten for an obedience dog but he had other ideas for his life and I let him follow it. He has Stats love of the conformation ring and uncomprimising love of me. You know the stories Phil tells of Stat, well his kid is the same. Stat passes on great heads, toplines and angulations. You can't ask for anything more....Temperament goes without saying....Phil breeds great temperament. Since I've gotten to know Philip he is great with support and helpful information. That means so much to me. But I have had that also from the beginning with Don Holder and still do...So do I agree that more should use him.....Absolutely....
Thank you all for the good words on Caye....He is a good boy......

A good relationship with your breeder is always a plus. I don’t know Don, but I know Phil, he is a great dog man and a joy to know. Here are a few things that are true, based on what I’ve observed over the years. First and foremost, Phil's dogs come first. They are beautiful dogs, beautifully trained, fit and glowing with health. They win because they should, it’s a competition and they are trained and conditioned to the peak of perfection, and shown beautifully by top handlers. Every part of the presentation to the fancy is superb, and that is a reflection of hours and hours of commitment and dedication to the dogs themselves. The reason Phil has been so successful in so short a time is that he has earned it. He sets the bar pretty high for others to try to follow. :) Take a look at how Stat's kids did in this entry. His son 9-12 month old son Cooper (a.k.a. PHILLMAR BRING IT ON V SIMCA) was WD/BW and his 7 year old son CH BLUMONT DASHING N DEBONAIR CDX RA won the Breed and the Group. http://www.infodog.com/RESULTS/2010027501/201002750134200.HTM
Maybe Paula can ask Tim for permisson to post photos of the Stat - Macie puppies.

I didn't know Philip until after the Santa Barbara shows....To me he was a person that owned my dogs father....Remember I'm an obedience person and did not follow conformation.....I did what my handler told me and my breeder told me.....I just had a very nice dog..... So meeting him after the show was a real eye opener....Caring, considerate and one of the nicest people one would want to meet. He was impressed with my Caye's conditioning and how I did things with Cayenne. He likes an all round Doberman not just conformation. Yes, he likes his dogs happy in the ring and trains the pups from the beginning to love it. When it was suggested by Don to take Cayenne to Jorge to see if he was good enough for the conformation ring, Jorge taught me Phil's technique of training. They both have the same training procedures and we benefited right from 10 or 12 weeks of age. Everything is fun for the pups..... Anyway, after Philip and my husband and I were introduced and they were just finished with pictures.....Caye was wild to get to me....Philip watched the interaction with us and he came over and hugged me and told me that he had only seen love like that between dog and owner and that was he and Stat....Even knowing that he and I share the same training techniques and ideas, when I go and pick up my new girl, I will spend 3 or 4 days training with him.....I can't tell you if all breeders do this, but I welcome the time and effort he puts into making sure his dogs go to people that feel the same way as he does.
Cooper's owners live part time out here in Phoenix. Michelle Lewis spent time with Cooper and she can't say enough about him....She is of the opinion that he is going to be a really nice boy in the ring for years to come.... I didn't get a chance to see him I'm sorry to say.
I hope she does post the pictures, or maybe Phil would post for us to see them....
Don is a quiet breeder....Only shows his dogs in AKC if there is a really nice one....Not that they are not very good dogs, he waits for the one that stands out to him. He did more showing a few years ago then he has lately. His line is Mary Rogers and Malasion Invasion lines. Every now and again he goes outside the line and Stat was one of those time he did. I'm so happy he did.

Yes, I had seen them....I hadn't seen him in person though.....You can see what great young boy he is and what he will be when he grows up....I hope they show him a bit here in the west and not just on the east coast shows. We can hope anyway.....
