A friend of a friend sold a puppy to what was supposed to be a nice home. The puppy was between 10 and 11 weeks old. The new owner (let’s call him Mr. Lye N. Sacosheet) returned the puppy after about a week, claiming that the puppy had a look in her eyes that said, “I’m gonna kill you when I get to be six months old.”

I really don’t want to go too far into my opinion of Mr. Sacosheet,;) or what sorts of future plans our puppies are making, but I noticed this photo of Lourdess and was wondering, do you think that look in her eyes says, “I’m gonna knock over a bank when I’m six months old” :D:rolleyes::cool:

As I recall, Miss Prissy is giving you a whole lot more than just a look, it’s more like a signed sealed contract that she’s up to something. ;):D Hotline runs a close second to her, it's all forward gears and go, pretty much all the time.

Btw, we had Capricia’s brother Diarado with us when we dropped Argen off with Brett and Lili. It was a beautiful day and we all went out on their boat – by “all” I mean Brett, Lili, Arthur and I, and the three dogs: Bella, Diarado and little Argen. Lili often mentions that they’re “going out on the boat.” I had no idea how easy and fun that is for them. Their boat is like a floating living room, it is so comfortable and relaxing. We had a great time, the dogs had a great time. We cruised around a bit, stopped on one of the islands for the dogs to play around a bit. The water was warm, the sky was blue, the scenery was absolutely lovely… and the dogs all acted like they done it all before. Bella has been boating before ( I think she and Brentano loved the boat), but it was Diarado’s and Argen’s first time, and they had a great time.

Now, if we’d brought Hotline with us, she’d probably have jumped off the boat in the first few minutes to catch up with her friends on some passing boat. :D:rolleyes: She’s just a bit more "forward” in her approach to things. Diarado is more like "Saint Diarado." He’s a love bug who takes everything in stride. Maybe it’s a “red boy” thing. :)

Why don't we all wonder what the look in my eyes would mean if I ever met the jackass that said that! That would be the better question.
Unbelievable.

BTW....that photo is adorable! It seems like she is saying " Sister, if you do not give me that wood chip you are chewing on, I am gonna kick you butt! "

Their cousin Rowan has it daily.......it runs in the family.....butt kicking that is!

I guess it wouldn't hurt to give you all in the northeast a heads up about this guy. He may still be looking for a Doberman puppy. We did not sell him anything, so I don't have all the details (but I can get them from my friend if need be). I can’t say what he looks like, but his name is David. In my opinion, by virtue of his line of work, he has the gift of bullshit. He comes across well and has a seductive manner, is married with one child, has no fenced yard (but he promises that he’s getting it done ASAP), and he seems to be completely full of crap. He has returned two puppies so far, each time claiming something idiotic. The first puppy was the 11 week-old bitch I mentioned above, who supposedly looked like she was going to kill him and the second puppy was a 6 month old male (who’d been raised around a three year-old child), who supposedly "went for his ten year-old daughter's throat."

In each case the breeders got their puppies back, but it was a bit of a mess. The guy is up in the northeast.

I decided to go back through a decade of photos.. and sure enough, here is one from 2001 of Cartier going for my throat.

So, I took a second look at some of the other puppy photos; all sorts of things popped up. For example, Celine is clearly stalking this group of people, just like a lion on the African savannah, probably waiting for a weak one to fall behind.

But then I noticed something else, the abuse little puppies have to put up with from us, like leash abuse,

and this unknown tattooed woman who appears to be trying to squeeze the _ _ _ _ out of Lourdess. And egads, what the heck is she doing to the bases of Lourdess’ ears.

Seriously, there is an aspect to all of this that is not a joke. Puppies do act out inappropriately at times, and when they do, they need to be firmly corrected. And breeders need to stand with new owners, especially if the new owners are not yet sure how to respond appropriately. I think one key to success is open communication between breeders and owners. Sometimes puppies growl and/or nip. That is not acceptable. I think the behavior is often associated with trying to establish a pecking order, and the puppy is confused about boundaries. Puppies need guidance from experienced people who understand how to respond properly. I think it is a mistake to present Dobermans to the public as “Golden Retrievers with short hair.” That sort of soft fuzzy image sets up in inaccurate expectation about the basic characteristics of the breed.

Amen sister!

The situation that was refrenced earlier is just stupid. The word will be passed in the North East to be aware of this jackass, now that I have some more details.
No one else needs go through this again.....especially a puppy!
