There is a saying in breeding, that we all should pay more attention to... “look to the breath of your pedigree, not the depth.” The littermates of a dog will tell you more about what the animal will produce than either sire or dam.

I was goofing around on the internet and came to this website for Janice McGerr and Rojan Dobermans. http://rojansdobermans.com/rojans_001.htm Janice is special to us (you have only to read about our bitch Lizabeth to understand why). So, from time to time I check out what’s new with Janice.

Gotta say, the Rojan Doberman website annoys the bejezzus out of me, but I’ll get to that in a moment. Look at the superb quality of dogs that Janice has bred. How many breeders have had her success? Janice's 2004 Dagger & Tease litter alone produced four champions, including two Best In Show bitches, one of whom was the number 1 Doberman in the country for 2006, BIS Ch. Rojan’s Dream of Tibet (a.k.a. Ada). Ada’s littermates are Ch Rojans the Glimmer Man , Ch Rojans Executive Decision and Ch Rojans Into the Sun

We see Ada from time to time at Carmen’s.. what a beautiful bitch... glorious and more mature than when she was out in the ring. Ada was very young when she was being Specialed; people in the breed haven’t gotten a chance to see her at maturity, which is a shame, because she is gorgeous. Too bad she is not out in the ring now, she would give Reigny a run for the money.

As nice as Ada is, Carmen says that two of her littermate sisters are even nicer. And then there is Janice’s black male Ch Rojans the Glimmer Man (a.k.a. Uno). Not only is Uno a lovely, square black dog with oodles of virtue in his own right, look at the quality of his pedigree, from a litter of BIS bitches. Like BIS CH. Eastwick’s Meadow Monster, Uno is a Dagger son...and we’ve seen what Monte has produced. It might be worth it for breeders to take a look at Uno.

Which brings me back to what bothers me about the Rojan website... there is no button for Uno... in fact, I’m not sure that Janice even has a page for him... and Janice does NOT shout from the roof tops about her accomplishments as a breeder, which annoys me :p

Janice?

She was a pleasure to talk to on the phone as well!!!!:D And all of these accomplishments in what 3 or 4 litters in 20+ years! That isn't luck.

Janice
I have to agree with E1. You make very beautiful babies.
Wow, very impressive both in looks and accomplishments.
I would be proud to have any one of them, and if I didn't have the much loved and handsome Quincy, I would be tormenting you about Uno let me tell you. Every single bitch is also to die for.
Keep up the good work.

Uno is gorgeous and those puppies are adorable! I love the shot of the three of them helping out with yardwork and hauling off that tree branch - obviously they've got looks AND a great work ethic :)

This is Uno's page. You have to click on the 04 litter, then Uno's page...

Thanks... E2 sent the link to me last night and I posted it in post #3 above. :) Uno is a very nice dog. I was having a problem finding his page because we had bookmarked the Rojan website from the Nico litter page... instead of bookmarking their home page... which - I notice- Janice has been working on. :) And, I could not get the 2004 link to work... but it does now.

Rojan breeds some pretty nice dogs... and does so litter after litter. :)

Elaine, Andy, Elaine2, Athy & Sorthund,

Thank you!
We are very proud of our Dagger & Tease litter, we expect great thing from our Miles & Nico litter also.:D We got the breeders dream litter with all the bitches we got from Dagger and Tease,:p that will not happen again!:( So we are very very proud of them. We did not plan on keeping Uno, but we wanted the only male to get his championship.:) I was supposed to find him a home after he finished, but you see how far that went! ;)In the 20+ years that I have owned Dobermans we have had 4 litters.

You know Elaine I put that font on the web page just to tie your eyes up in knots! :D

The picture of the puppies on the stick, I think Carmen took that picture!? From the left is Uno, Nico & Ada or Lucy. We had 5 puppies on that stick at one point.
The other picture is air born Co-Quette and Ace.

Thank You!

Janice

Janice,
I also LOVE the picture of the puppies on the stick. I have seen that picture in someone's house I know. ;) You do have really nice dogs Janice! I am glad you updated your website, it looks great!

Ditto what Lindsay says... the Rojan dogs are lovely... and the website is really looking great. :) I've said this before, but, Janice has really done some remarkable breedings, how many breeders have litters with Multiple Best In Show kids? very nice :)
