interesting. There was also an article recently in USA Today about the U.S. importing untrained drug and bomb dogs for large amounts of money. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Wonderful idea! Anytime you add a dog (guess I should say a well behaved dog) the situation becomes calmer! Hey Tungsten, maybe this could be your "Summer" job!! ;)

Hey guys, I've trained scent specific dogs for over twenty years. There's a reason why you don't sell your dogs to become bomb dogs. If your dog makes a mistake and eats the remote for the tv, it's one thing, but to make that mistake with explosives? Nope. Not my dogs...maybe my ex-husband...

No No No Brenna! I didn't mean the bomb sniffing job. I meant the job helping kids who are scared in a courtroom mentioned in Athy's original post!!! Would never want you to put T in harms way!! :):):)

I hate to see ANY dog in harm's way...not only mine, but yours, as well. It's unfortunate, but most law enforcement agencies view their dogs as equipment. They have to do that. But we, as native doggers, need to think about our four footed extended families. Law enforcement dog a magnificent job, and a hard one, and we the public shouldn't gripe. BUT, me as a dog person, I refuse to subject MY dogs to that. For that reason, ANY dog I run is handled ONLY by me, because I want to know that if I come home, so will the dog. And no offense taken by me, nor do I wish it on others:cool:
