Have any of you ever experienced an ingrown whisker with one of your dogs? It appears that Eva has one. Her cheek is swollen, red and has a knot. There is also a pustule.

Andy,
I have never seen anything like that, could it be an insect bite?

Oh Andy, poor Eva.... I'm with Elaine thinking it could be a bug bite... Please let us know how she makes out...

I was thinking a spider bite....It doesn't seem to hurt her. She allows me to touch it for inspection. I tried to see of a whisker was growning messed up. I couldn't find anything. The puss coming out is pretty clear. I just woke and will call the vet soon. I will let you know.....

Infected whisker follicle!!! Don't ask me how. She is on a round of Keflex. We keep her bedding clean and she is bathed regularly. Maybe she got some bacteria in there when she got her whiskers trimmed for the show???? I love another vet bill!:D

Andy that is good news...A round of antibiotic is a good thing and some of us have learned something...We now know what an infected whisker folicle looks like. Hugs to your dobergirl...

She got them trimmed at the show by Betsy's buddy. There may have been some doggie germs on the clippers or their hands. Oh well, lesson learned. I am glad it wasn't a huge spider!!!!

Eva's growth is diminishing. It is barley noticeable now. Now we have to deal with Tabitha being a drama queen while she completes her heat.
