I need DSNN members help with an ad. By way of background, I am the Advertising Chairman for the Moore County Kennel Club Show Catalog Ads... which essentially means I accost perfectly innocent friends asking that they put an ad in our show catalog. The ads are basically just away for saying, Best Wishes For Another Successful Show. A full page ad with photo is $62.50 (deadline is July 2nd, send your check to me, made out to the Moore County Kennel Club. :p

Anyway, being a full service ad chairman I will do just about anything for an ad. The other day I went over to a friends, she has Parson Terrier, imported from Ireland, her registered name is Foxline Grainne. Grainne is now registered with the AKC, she was formally registered with the Irish Kennel Club. They are going to show her and will be breeding her when she turns two.

Grannie is just about the sweetest little dog you’ve ever laid eyes on. Here are a few of the photos that I took... any of you have a favorite that we should use. The ad will just say “Best Wishes For a Successful Show.”

What'd ya think?

Why Janice, how indelicate of you to notice... but now that you mention it... it does look like she’s taking a dump. :D

I do not want an ad that subliminally says, “Here’s what we think of you.” :o

Here is the photo cropped... and a few others of Terry with Grainne.

LOL now I can't look at the pic without getting a visual. The facial expression is so cute though.
E1, I know you won't do it, but our favourite picture of yours that you named Take the Lead would be appropriate if wishing someone luck at a show. :D
E2
OK, the cropped pic was not there when I was replying. You must have been editing your note. I love the cropped pic!!

Can't use Take the Lead because that name is taken... but could use, "In life there are leaders and there are followers."

That would be the photo. Now how perfect is that and is he not the cutest??;)
Who took that name? Do you know how many corporations actually use that saying? Why can't you use it for an ad in a dog magazine?
I do like Andy's suggestion too. Amazing, but true.;) (sorry Andy, couldn't resist)

Take The Lead provides direct services, support and care for people in the sport of purebred dogs who suffer the devastation of life-threatening or terminal illness. Here is a quote from their website. http://www.takethelead.org/

"Take the Lead was founded in 1993 as not-for-profit foundation under Section 501 (c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code dedicated to provide direct services, support and care for all qualified participants in the sport of dogs who suffer from the devastating realities of life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
The AIDS crisis opened our eyes to the many ruthless illnesses that were challenging us to our very core. Though we came together week in and week out to compete at shows and trials, to participate in club activities, to share knowledge and common interests, we had inadequate resources in any one place to take care of those in our community who so clearly needed our help.

We wanted to be there for everyone. We wanted to make a difference. Our goals, as many pointed out to us at first, were never modest. Neither were our energies.

In September 1993, we held a benefit cocktail party during the Westchester weekend and gave contributors small lapel pins, emblazoned with our red leash logo. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the pins on blazers and blouses the next day. We were overwhelmed with requests for more pins. Soon they were everywhere, East, South, Midwest, West, worn by exhibitors, handlers, judges, even first time spectators.

More events followed: at Westminster, at the International, at Del Valle, in Boston, Knoxville, Houston, and Portland. Each one was very successful. Take the lead began an ambitious project to engage the AKC member clubs and the licensed clubs to support our fundraising efforts, and more importantly, to be our crucial link to guide us to those in need.

In 1994, we received our first applications for assistance and immediately began making distributions. We paid medical insurance premiums, transportation costs, funeral expenses, as well as a great variety of non-medical bills.

The last three years have been a time of incredible challenges and also incredible growth. As much as we would like to believe that our efforts can make miracles happen, they cannot. The money we raise and the assistance we provide cannot buy a single cure. But we take some real comfort in knowing we can make a difference in a person’s life.

From simple spaghetti suppers to exciting gala dinner dances, silent auctions to quilt raffles, clubs have found countless ways to raise funds for Take The Lead. Many clubs have graciously included a public service advertisement for Take the lead in their show catalogs; others have donated a portion of their entry fee. We are sincerely grateful.

At this point, it would be easy to pat ourselves on the back and step down quietly. our commitment is deeper that that. We still have much to do.

Soon after we began, we decided that it was not enough simply to cover the immediate needs of our community. We wanted to insure that those in need would be protected and provided for. In 1995, we established a permanent restricted fund and determined that up to one half of each year’s net income would be placed in it. Already we have seen this seed investment become a substantial asset. It is our goal that one day the interest earned on this endowment will provide more than enough income to cover the expenses of everyone in our sport who qualifies for assistance.

We ask once again for your support. Your participation is valued and vital, not only to us as an organization, but to the entire community, and to the sport of dogs itself.

All contributions to Take the Lead are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

YES... for $62.50 you get the whole ball of wax... an ad and a copy of it!!!

Can't beat that offer with a stick!!!:D

btw, doesn't have to be a photo of EVA... it can be of your TFT or of Eva and the TFT. This ad was a bit hit last year, and Jeff sells real estate in PA and doesn't even own a purebred dog.

OK guys and girls, it's E2 and I want to put a best wishes type of page in and need your thoughts. I'm brain dead today, but, here is the wording I have come up with so far along with a picture of Quincy this winter. He loves the snow btw.
"Canadian Warm Wishes for a successful 2008 Moore County Kennel Club Show
From your North Carolina native Logres’ Voltaire (AKA Quincy), now living in Canada with Tom and Elaine Gravelle"

Hey E2,
I think you should add "CAN BPIS CH" to the front of Logres Voltaire!!
You might add "who is asking Santa for a black and tan sister from NC!! ;);)

I like #2 cropped..... I thought the same rude thing before it was cropped.

But poor dog, in #1 he may kill himpoorself if he doesn't get to go.
He also doesn't mind telling you to have a successful show, (#4) but he is very sad (#5) he doen't get to go.

The Take The Lead Pup says,
"Okay then. I'll go by myself!"

Your pictures are great, Elaine. I wish the Jumping for Joy outtake had come out.
