View Full Version : Caught in the act!
thougth I would share a pick of Patrick in the fountain. He is at the stage where he is so proud of himself if he gets on top of something or does something new for the first time. What a little darling.
Enjoy:D

What a darling photo... I absolutely love it!!!:) and what a nice rear on that boy!!! love the length of his upper thigh and the bend of stifle. When is he going in the ring?
he is just 16 wks so he has a little time to go. He will howevr be 7 mths just in time for your Nat'l in October. Perfect timing I'd say. Now, I have to start some conformation classes. That takes me back!;)

Not sure I follow you Julie, is the Beardie National in October? I have forgotten when it is. But did you ever noticed that the Great Dane National, the Afghan National, the Dobe National are all within a few weeks of each other? :( Probably not eh?
About handling classes... what’s still left in your area? Does Pam Sage have a class. Maybe Cathy Ceely could give a class, that would be informative.
We have almost nothing here, unless we can get Carmen Pitts to give a class. Carmen is great with the Dobes, but she works full time and shows weekends, so we're almost never are able to pin her down. I’d love to have something like Rosemary Petter’s class, with an nice air conditioned building, comfortable chairs, some good coffee, some of E2’s home baked goodies... and the camaraderie of a bunch of dog-loving-old-women-with-a-dream... to show and finish the dogs they own and breed.
If we lived closer, Tina, Brenna, Sheila, Betty, E2, J1 and I could be quite a force in the Shown By An Old Fart class :D ... but they don’t offer that class at every show, and it’s difficult to all get together. :(

Actaully believe it or not!! Merr and I and Deb Thomas are going tomorrow night. The first handling class I have been to in !&$?* yrs.! Too bad you are not closer. Now, that would be fun!!:D:D:D
I think I better take my camera. This might be worth capturing on film.:p
This class is in Sumner close to Puyallup. It's a walk-in type class. I think I will like that type better than paying for a bunch of classes and not being able to go to all of them. I will just work on walking on a lead and baiting him to stand I think. He can't work too long. He just a baby. But I plan on handing him off to Merr and others to show. Because as we all know. This is no longer my strong suit. And I don' want him to get to attached to me when we are doing this event.
The BCCA Nat'l this year is the last week of October. In Santa Rosa where my Mom lives. So I have a free place to stay. Which makes the trip much more appealing. I hope to get him to a match or two before hand. I think there is Gig Harbor show before we go. I might have to find somene to show him there and see how he does!
Remember my first show? ;) Wasn't it at Bremerton? You're memory is better than mine. I just remember you where there.

Good luck, have fun... :) I'm guessing that Debbie has one of Patrick's littermates (any photos?), does Merr have an OES puppy
And yes I rememeber your first show... and your first show dog... Satchel... that was what... a week or so ago? In some ways it seems that vivid. Time sure flys. :p
And your National sounds wonderful... will you get a strong showing from the East Coast? And who's hot in the breed right now... Is it Bettis, or Ritter? Does Richard H'Penny What's His Name still have dogs out? For that amtter, who's judging your National?
Well that was allot of ?? at once :p
Merr has an OES she is trying keep in coat. Not an easy job at her farm. So she is bring her. Deb Thomas is my long time friend and vet. She does have a puppy she kept out of the other litter. She Pentangle bearded collies. She bred my Lucy and had the sire for my Lucy's litter. She is also Patrick's breeder. You asked about who is showing these days in beardies, well Michele Ritter is still a big name in Bearded Collies. She owns Patricks' father. Britannia's Back To The Future, a.k.a. Biff. Big dog these days. Along with allot of Britannia, Brigadoon, Briarpatch, HaPenny, Classical dogs.
Robert Greitzer just died, he was a big part of Dick Schneiders kennels. Dick died a few years ago. Time march's on. All to fast some times.
It will be interesting to see how much of a turn out we get from the east coast this year at our Nat'l. I believe that folks will not want to spend the $$ to drive that far with their dogs. I do believe however, that, it a subject to discuss also. Is the high price of gas, food etc putting halt or slow down in entries of your regionals, and Nat'ls? My view for what ever that is worth:p Is that we need to put down our latte's once in awhile and save our pennies and support our local club at regional and even our Nat'ls. Make an effort to make them a success. If we all pitch in these local clubs will still be able to do what they do best. Support our local people in our favorite hobby. As a big part of our local club for too many years to count. I have to say we have noticed a decline in attendance over the years. Have you seen that in the Dobie clubs as well?
Julie
I forgot one? you asked. Who is judging our Nat'l. It's a English judge. Wendy Hines. You know us beardie folks... we love to have english judge our nat'ls.

Wow... it’s sad to hear the Dick has died :(... warts and all, I always liked the guy... and though large, the H’Penny dogs were lovely. Remember Moon Shadow, Penny and Donna Herzog’s bitch, what was her name... was it Thunder? Btw, Is Marie gone too?
About your enthusiasm for giving back... kudos to you... it’s people like you who are the backbone of this sport. We are heavily involved in our All- breed club... but it is a small core group that make things work... many of the club members simply don't get involved...not sure why that is.:(
