I just heard from Tracy: CH PHILLMAR SOBE MONSTER went BEST IN SHOW at the Danville Kennel Club, Inc. - Thursday 08/07/2008 under Mike Billings. Ruth Zimmerman did the Breed and the Group!!!

CH PHILLMAR SOBE MONSTER is sired by Ch Eastwick's Meadow Monster out of Ch Phillmar Thunderella CD. He is owned by Mary Klein & Hector & Alicia Farias & Philip M Martin. Sobe was bred by Phillip M Martin & C Green & L Sniderman Berg & S Berg, he is handled by Esteban Farias.

Haven't spoken with Phil... HUGE CONGRATS TO EVERYONE, WHAT A THRILL FOR THIS YOUNG DOG!!!

not sure how SOBE did today... Derba Thornton is doing the Breed, Lea Reasin is doing the Group and Ruth Zimmerman is doing BIS... so, it could be another BIS for SOBE

Update: just got off the phone with Phil... Carmen won the Breed today with C.J. a.k.a. CH ALLURE BLAZING STAR ALISATON, sired by Ch Imagemakers Hot Tropics - Ch Cinnakerry's Relentless a bitch. Owner: Julie Porter & Carmen Pitts. Breeder: Carmen Pitts & Gwen Demilta.

Sobe went BOS.

Thanks for the Congratulations. It as an exciting day. Sobe is my third Best In Show winning dog. Over all it’s been pretty exciting few weeks. Our Stat -Thunderella puppy Leesa, Phillmar Statuerella, picked up both her majors in Salem, VA from the 6-9 puppy class. At the same time, Phillmar Monster Mania v Simca, who is out with Gwen DeMilta, picked up 13 pts and both majors in just three weekends. He now needs only one single point to finish. Leesa and Manny will be my 26th and 27th Champions, and make 11 champions for Thunderella to date. I bred my first Doberman litter in 1998.

One of the best things about Phil is that he not only shows really really nice dogs... but he is really great to have around the Dobe ring... truly truly a nice man, and a gracious competitor. People like Phil make showing dogs a pleasure... and you sure as hell can't say that about all the folks you meet ringside. :cool:

I can personally attest to that!!! A real gentleman and very caring. He was the first one there to help when Quincy had me do my face plant and dying swan act at the Nationals last year. And I had hoped to look my best if I was ever lucky enough to meet Phil, not with my face in the dirt and glasses flying 5 feet away. :eek:
