They really do seem very consistent... very nice litter. We don't actually take photos that early, so I don't have any comparisons. I can’t say I’ve ever asked a puppy so young to hold much of a stack, nor have I asked that they hold their tail so high, because it would be too high for what is correct in our show ring. The tail should be at about 1 o’clock (maybe one thirty) not at 12:00. Pushing a tail up to 12:00 would be possibly okay for some of the Terriers, but never for a Doberman in our rings here in the USA. To give you and idea, Mr. Sanchez has Bindi’s tail set about perfect in this photo here. http://dogshownewsnetwork.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=735&d=1218481186

Sounds good... and I am only commenting on what we do... but not making the leap that what we do it what you (or anyone else) should do... and for me, that would be a huge leap.

I found a photo of Jose Polanco stacking Claire at about 4 weeks... it made me cringe when he sent it... it still makes me cringe. In my opinion a puppy's soft tissue development is not far enough along at this age to stress it by forcing it int a stack like Polanco is doing. .

I truly understand the desire to see what you have produced ASAP, and to show it to the world. And I readily concede that you are not wrenching any of your puppies the way Polanco is wrenching Claire... but here is the basis of my concern (I should mention, we’ve been pretty vocal about our negative opinion of Polanco, so I don’t need to go back over it here)... what I see in the Polanco 4 week photo of Lil Claire is a teeny puppy being contorted into a picture that is not remotely indicative of her at maturity. At 4 weeks she lacks the musculature to properly resist being contorted into this picture. Look at the angle of her croup in this photo... and the angle of her croup at maturity... and notice the top line at the loin connection, and even her overall proportions. The four week photo was useless in predicting Lil CLaire's conformation at maturity. More on point, I sometimes wonder if Polanco (out of sheer ignorance) caused Lil Claire permanent damage. But again, it is only my opinion... though when we consider the incidence of spinal abnormalities in our breed that we tend to see later in life, you’ve got to stop and wonder if we are damaging our young Dobermans early in life by forcing them into a stack too early and too often.

After what Polanco was doing to her, it's really no wonder that she hates being stacked... it must be a painful memory for her.
