Sometimes life really sucks. Bad crap happens to good people and dogs. I've heard many such stories as of late and I am CONVINCED we are in a weird time. Freak incidents happening in greater frequency, lives turned upside down in the blink of an eye. I can say this because I've gone through it myself, as have many of you. We've all lost someone, human or dog or other animal, very close to us. And it seems to happen more often lately. But maybe we could try to pull something positive out of this. I practice a Benedictine lifestyle, and one thing that has taught me is to stop 100 times a day. Not for very long sometimes, but it could be. When I stop, I think what does the God/doG/world/people/I see in that precise moment. And I try to remember that moment. I do this with great focus at dog shows. I find ONE sight, picturesque, surrounded by beautiful dogs and life. I memorise it. A mental picture if you will. I can remember EVERY show I've been to, but not the placements, not even my own dog's placement. I remember the show. Or the day at the park, or running through the meadow, or catching my dog raiding the trash can. I challenge you to incorporate thankfulness/gratitude into your life by truly appreciating your family, human and animal, EVERYDAY. You never know when they or you won't be there to do it again(see pics). So take a moment. Right now, my girls are wrestling on the floor in my office. Take it all in, be PRESENT in the moment. Live and Laugh with them. There is no cost in doing this. But there is a cost if you don't. Be thankful for who you have!

Thank you Brenna! A pause to be Grateful! To appreciate what we do have! I heard a speaker once say, "few of us know what we truly want and none of us know what we need!" Instead of bemoaning what we do not have, lets look around and thank God for what we do have today! for we all know, it could be gone tomorrow, plus by being grateful, you'll have a much better today! :):)

Brenna, thank you.

I used to go to my Great Grandfather's farm a lot. He had 120 acres. 15 acres were wooded and had a nice size pond. Many times I would go there to just absorb what he and nature had created. I would take mental photographs and I look at them daily. I now have no chance of ever owning a slice of what he created but in my mind I live there for at least 5 minutes everyday.

Many times I just watch my daughter, dogs, and wife interact. It never fails to put a smile on my face. Often it is during my favorite show on television and it takes 2 hour to watch an hour long program. I am very thankful to have DVR!!!!:D It is so important to actually experience your own life and that of others around you. I wish life had DVR.......:D
