I am a new member, and I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Janet, I have three wonderful dobermans, a blue male Levi, a black female Saphira (Sa-fear-a) and a fawn female Nic.. the fawn is special needs, not because she is a dilute but because of an illness she got at 7 months of age.
The reason why we have Dobermans is well, 30 years ago I got a little Dobie, I was 14, I sold a horse to get a puppy. She Pippi, (AKC Jans Little Lizzy Ann)was the best dog we ever owned, I never showed her, she was just a great dog. After she passed, I could not think about getting another dobe, but I had to have a dog, so I got Tangie, a Basinji, shepard mix, and three years later I got Toe Jam the scruffawawa.
As children do, I have five, Derek 29, Robert 26, Kayla 21, Heather 20, and Ashley 19. grew up, married, joined the service, moved to another state, my dogs grew old, and well, we all know what happens to them:(.. and before I knew it, I was living in a huge house with no children, no dog, only a cat.OOOmpie and he adopted me.
On the first Saturday of July 2005, my husband and I were reading the paper, I was scanning the cladssifieds, I saw an add for a blue Doberman, pup. I asked my husband what he thought he said lets go look, so I called, we went to look and it was all over, we paid for our little 9 week old cone head, scooby doo nosed, blue boy, the breeder told us several things about the dilutes. she also told us if we wanted to show him we could he would do well in the ring, at that time we just said no we would just have a pet..
When Levi was, about 12 weeks old we went to the feed store, to get horse feed, a guy told me I should take him across to the groomer and have her drimmel his toes, while they loaded my truck it was only $5.00 and it would be a good experience for my puppy, so I took him across the parking lot had his toes done and the groomer told me I should really show him and gave me a telephone number to the NCDPC president, and have him evaluate my pup.
Well the rest is history, we are now chasing Majors for Levi.
Saphira was in her first show three weeks a ago, she got best in Sweeps and winners bitch. So I am hoping to pick up a few points on her soon as well.
Thank you for reading, about me if you want more information just let me know.. I love to gab about my dogs.. OH!! by the way, yes they sleep in the bed, and they are under feet all the time..

Hi Janet and welcome to the group. Great story and we will cheer you on to get all of those points, only if you post those pictures for Tina!! She will not let you forget. :D
Tom and I are the proud owners of Can CH Logres' Voltaire. We call him Quincy, amongst other names.
Q has his Cndn CH and has started with Kelly Marquis for his American CH. He is currently on a sabatical due to Kelly's previous pregnancy and we also need to mature the boy for a bit. he might go back out next year, so we may get to meet you at a show.
Again, welcome and enjoy

we live in language Andy... the dialogue we have with ourselves and others, the words we chose, are the only things we have complete control over in life ... you can be the endearing younger brother... :)

Sanjay,
When you have time, we'd love to see photos of your two girls (puppies) :)
And, btw, for anyone going to the National... or anyone who knows where to get those braided nylon leads and chokes that Kelly uses, that are either brown, black or the brown and black braid, could you contact Sanjay... not sure what sizes he needs, but he needs a selection, and we are not going to the National this year and that is the only place I've seem them.

I do not know how to attach pictures, I tried but I do not know if it worked..
Janet If you email me the photos I will post them for you... better yet, ask Andy to show you how to use Photo bucket... and then explain it to me. But you'd have to translate the explanation into old fart language or I will not understand it. :D Or, ask Brenna, she seems to know how to post photos that appear in the main text field of the post.... I only know how to do attachments. Oye Vey!

One easy way to post photos is to click on the paperclip icon and upload what you have. :) or you can open a photo bucket account.

Thanks for the link...:) and Sanjay may find it useful... but the leads and collars I'm thinking of were a bit more expensive... they are braided and round. I didn't see them on the site you linked... but maybe I was looking in the wrong place.

You can do one of two things:
First:
when you click reply, you will see a paper clip. click that. when it says "browse" click that then look for the place where the picture you want to share lives. click on the picture, then click upload. Et viola!
OR
Second, find the pic you want to post. Right click your mouse (unless you have a mac, then I think it's something like control c for copy). Then you do the normal old reply make your title, go down to where you type the body of your text, and right click again. The little bar will offer "paste". click paste and your pic will appear in the body of the text. That's a bit slow for multiple pics, but it works. You just minimize your reply, and do it again, or go up to the paper clip, browse for the photo, and instead of uploading it after selecting it, you can right click from there to copy and paste then just close the box when you're done.:D Now, how about them pics????:p

I did not see them this time on the site, but she is the one that makes them, I have 3. I got my first one at the Fitchburg National 6 years ago and really love them.

Thanks... I'd bet that if Sanjay contacted this website, they would be able to help him directly. :) I think that (within a range) the choice of a lead and collar is a personal thing, and can depend on the specific dog. Some do better on a chain, some on nylon... it varies.
