Ok, so I am in need of a really good chew toy for my Doberman. She loves the rope-bones but she rips through them fairly quickly. Therefore, I wanted to know if any of you out there have found a great toy that manages to no get destroyed within 10 minutes that is also soft on their gums? I have noticed that Lexi likes to "gum" the rope bone so I like she wants something like that.
Thanks all!

The BEST toy is the one that the other dog has! Doesn’t matter if it’s a stick, a ball, one of the horse's feed dishes... any garden tool I am using at the moment, as long as someone else wants it... the toy is golden. :D Attached here below is Warkant with one of his favorite toys of the moment...
But, if you’re talking about what you can get from the store... :) Tammy Burton sent us some really neat toys for the puppies, one was a Kong Wubba http://www.kongcompany.com/worlds_best.html (under Products and then New Products) which seemed to last about as long as any toy does around here... and the dogs really liked them. The dogs like most all the Kongs. Unfortunately, they almost always end up in the pond. :(
We would not use a rope toy or any tug type toy where the dog could get a tooth snagged. The toy and the permanent tooth can go one way and the dog another... and in Dobermans, that is never a good thing. :(

"Ruh Roh. You guys arrrrrrre wrrrrong....the BEST toy is a SQUIRREL....oooh or a BIRD....or a TURRRRTLE....but Eraine says never a SNAKE." (although, since Muse is in full blown season, I'm sure he could be swayed:eek:):D

If you can find the large hollow bones, you fill thm up with Peanut butter freeze them, give them to puppy after breakfast, and he/she will be entertained for hours with his/her peanut butter popcycle..
I love to watch it could be pretty funny..
This might fit your need. This toy was good,, although I can never seem to find anything that will last more than 2 weeks. He just wears it down :-). We have thought of buying stock in pet toys!!!
BTW-- I will send you the remaining pillow on my couch. It's no longer a matched set. Bad boy,,,, 20 toys laying around the house has not been enough for him the past 3 weeks.

My guys all adore those "Cuz" toys. They are very tough (the big ones anyway) and have lasted more than 6 months. My guys seem to prefer the Dino-Cuz.

AT LEAST YOU HAVE A SOFA LEFT!!!! Mine decided that the fully ventilated sofa was much to their liking. There WAS, a few pieces of WOOD left. That's ok. It belonged to my EX!!!!:D:p

OK...this is a funny thread...I smiled all the way through!!
All of my guys since the begining have enjoyed their latex squeakies, never destroying them. My old guy Flex ( DOB-1995), had a $2.00 kitty toy that he got when he was 12 wks old....Emma played with it when she was a baby. I finally retired kitty to Flex's memory box when Ems was 18 months or so!
Vaako is a bit more of a chewer...he loves his massive sterilized knuckle bones I get at White Bone for them. Also, if you can find these bones made by Nyla. They are very hard rubber and even he can't destroy them. They aren't Nyla's typical stuff...and I have a hard time finding them. So, good luck! Harrisburg every show cycle I but a few. He carries them all over the place dropping them on any foot available.
I agree...all Cuz products are the deal! He loves Bad Cuz and so does Ems. The none stop squeaking is enough to kill you but whatever.....as long as they are happy and having fun!!
The Animal Planet Squeakies are very good...they like their tongues that extend when they squeeze them..LOL!!!

That is Eva's favorite toy! She would probably destroy it if were accessible all the time though. I keep it on the back porch and we play fetch every time she goes out. If I let her out without it she just stares at me. thanks for the link Athy I was wondering where to get a replacement. I purchased it at a show.

I am glad to know that I do not have the only dragon dobe.. that explains her name Saphira,,, She ate to the wood, two couches and my husbands recliner.. that is when I started useing the frozen Peanut butter, it really helped, the last thing she ate was the lawn mower, Yeh I know My husband left it in the back yard,,, she ate it..tires and all, you should have seen the repair mans face, when we told him our doberman ate it, he said he would not make house calls to our house,,, I laughed.
