Wanted to share what a great day we had in Mt Airy yesterday at DAR&E's
2nd annual winetasting fundraiser. Athy C put on a very very nice event
at Linganore Winery. Beautiful property, and altho 90 plus degree's we were in from the heat.
Many of our adopters and volunteers enjoyed delicious food and were able to sample a variety of wine.

Our next upcoming event will be Oct 26 also in beautiful Mt Airy.
Our 5th Annual DAR&E Fall BBQ Ho Down. We invite all dobe lovers and owners to join us for a day of true southern BBQ and all the fixins.
We offer CGC testing, a variety of raffle items, photo's with your dobe, and DAR&E merchandise, and of course Halloween contest for your doberkid.
Here is the link to our invitation. http://3763524891552020672-a-1802744...attredirects=0

Will do! The dogs have such a great time at this event! HUGE fenced area where they can play, bark their heads off at the ducks, geese, and all the other wildlife while their humans picnic.
And ALL the money goes to help additional dobes in need.

I call it the "mosh pit" :D This is one wild party - it's hysterical to watch 15 or so Dobermans of varying colors and sizes running as a big, huge wave through the area. We humans all have the "tuck your knees and roll if necessary" maneuver down pat!

We like to view it "organized chaos".... :) Most folks tells us that their Doberkids are completely conked out in the car before they even get out of the driveway of the place. EVERYONE, human and canine, goes home exhausted after this one!

Even better is that us also keeps us connected to our adopters and their dobes. Its so wonderful to hear how their adopted dobes have changed their lives, or hear some of the mischief their doberkids have been into, and hear the brags of accomplsihments.
Our last turnout was about 100 people and I bet about 60 dobermans.
Nothing better than talking "dobe talk" all day long.
I know my girl (who doesnt enter the mosh pit) is still exhausted from a day of trying to regulate from the sidelines.

Hey All
Was thinking today what I will be considering for Halloween costume's for my doberkids.
We are having a contest for best dressed doberman at our DAR&E BBQ
Oct 26.
I am not sure my dober diva Kayla will allow anything but her jewel studded collar with all its charms etc etc. but I think Dallas may be UP for the challenge.
He's my red doofus.
One of the gals at Metropolitan Match bought him the silliest head gear thats actually a spider with glowing eyes. He's been practicing wearing it. :)
Dallas actually has big issues with camera's so I can't get a pic of him in it.
Here's one of the very few pics we have of him.
http://www.dobe.net/SuccessStories/dallas.htm
Just imagine a red doofussy boy with big hairy spider strapped to his head with red glowing eyes. :)
Anyone have any doberpics with their kids in Halloween costumes?
I could use some inspiration for Kayla's costume.

I absolutely loved the picnic photos. You all must be so proud of yourselves, knowing that you have changed the lives of so many Dobermans in such a positive manner. Love and joy shines through in every photo. All of us in the Doberman community are indebted to you for the work you do. :)

About the perfect Halloween costume… I see some amazingly creative things… but as is often the case, at the time when all of that inspiration and creativity would actually come in handy, I am drawing a complete blank. :o
:o

I would love to do a costume where the dog was a horse, dragon, camel, whatever, and he /she has some stuffed rider on his back… or where the dog’s front legs are part of the body of the costume… I have seen some really creative things, but I am fresh out of inspiration. Years ago I made my daughter a pea pod costume, it was a McCall's pattern... so so so cute. Maybe I should run by a sewing machine... that'd be a start.

Thank you Elaine. This is a huge part of our lives and we are very proud.
It is truly wonderful to see all the doberchildren with their new loving parents.
Some of the very saddest cases come thru and then to see them several months later with shiny coats and confidence is what it is all about.
I hope I am not out of line by posting our gas card raffle?
https://sites.google.com/site/dobenet/
With the price of gas these days who couldnt use an extra $100 to fill your tank?
We'll be doing the drawing Oct 26 at our BBQ.
btw, Thank you for playing Elaine.
All funds raised go to help our dobes in need.
I also wanted to share with everyone our newest newsletter.
