As you have noticed, we have a new family member … Liane (Lili) Mickesh.. Lili has had Great Danes for years… loves the breed, showed some… she knows many of the Working Dog people around the country (which crosses over beautifully into Dobermans).

She now has a young black Doberman gal ~ Bella ~(a spayed rescue bitch) who is about as sweet and beguiling as you’ll ever run across … and she now co-owns Logres’ Brentano with us.

I’ve attached a few photos of Brentano and Bella on his first outing with Lili and Brett. Many of you know that Brentano is a littermate to Tungsten, Titan and Brentina. His one ear never stood, so he was not shown… he is about as gentle and loving a soul as you will ever run across… we think he’s found a perfect home with Lili and her husband Brett.

E2 and I are going to show Claire (and possibly Warkant, Almé or Halla) at the October Lumberton NC shows. We are hoping to entice Lili to come too… for a day of pure silliness and havoc. :D

Sheial,

You’re entitled to more than one “ooops!’ per each Open House… btw, don’t you have one tomorrow too? Here’s hoping that it goes well… remember, you only need one buyer… and then you’re through with open houses…. til the next time.

It is so nice to be part of a great group. Hi, I am Lili. Brett and I live in Lake Wylie, SC. We moved down here last October from Maryland and adopted Bella, our sweet girl from Doberman Rescue of the Triad last Halloween. I have been very very fortunate to become Brentano's new mom. Elaine entrusted us with him a week ago and it as though he has lived here forever. Thanks to Elaine for his wonderful upbringing he has fit in like glue. He has adjusted to our two cats and being pestered by Bella 24-7 like a champ. And he has become a sailor with no problem. We love him so much already. I look forward to meeting all of you in person some time soon I hope and I can't tell you how nice it is to be part of the family. I just can't thank Elaine enough.

Lili

That's a phrase we have all said repeatedly. And better yet, we meant it!

I want to get E2 in the ring... for fun... and nothing is more fun then trying to show Lil’ Claire. (Or maybe it’s, “Nothing it more trying then trying to show Lil Claire.”) :p

Anyway, E2 and I are going to show at Lumberton in October. The InfoDog is down til Monday, and I can't recall the exact dates, but I think it closes this Wednesday (if not this Wednesday, then next Wednesday). Lil' Claire hates showing and she will not give an inch in the ring, which is cute to a point, but unless there is a total eclipse of the sun, that coincides with the return of Halley’s Comet and the Second Coming, Lil’ Claire is not going to be competitive. So, I’d also like to enter Halla and Warkant... and possibly even Almé. So, Lili, do you want to take a Dobe in the ring? :o It’ll be fun, we can be the Three Horsewomen of the Acropolis (instead of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse).. but it will probably amount to the same thing when all is said and done :o

Let's give it a try... heck, even Esteban and Diego had to start somewhere…

It always starts with, " Come on, it will be fun!", that is right up until someone looses an eye!!! LOL!

What E1 doesn't tell anyone is, she is pretty good on the end of a breed leash, so do not let her fool you!

We will need photos......Cheryl

But, as for the photos, you KNOW that none of them will have heads (except the dogs)!:p And going in the ring should ALWAYS be fun!:D Where else can we be playing with our dogs, surrounded by our TRUE community, in the presence of some of the most beautiful creations in the Universe? :DAnd where else can we spend 400 bucks (entry, travel, hotel, food) for a 15 cent ribbon?:D

I prefer my stratigic position of ringside with a bird's eye view of my beautiful dogs with Diego Fernando Garcia on the end of their leash. JMO.
Those that want to brave the tides...have at it!!! I support you 100%.

My play timein competition comes in when I put them to a sleeve or a bite suit!

Rock on girls!

Isn't this line from one of my favorite movies of all time, "Muppet Treasure Island." :D :D :D

OK, here's how the original version started a few weeks back:
E2: hey E1 are there any dog shows in your area while I'm there?
E1: I don't know, let me check. Yes there is one about an hour and a half away. Why?
E2: Why don't we go and just have fun at a dog show without any dogs. Walk around, see the vendors, watch the shows, no stress of our dogs in shows for a change.
E1: Sounds great. Let's do it, but, we should take Lil Claire. She loves to shop at the vendors.
E2: Well, alright, if you insist, that should be fine.
E1: Wait, Lil Claire hates to show! Why don't we enter her and you show her!
E2: What?? Are you Flippin crazy? No way. If you want, you show her and I will stand off to the side and get cool pictures of Claire glaring at you. Now that sounds a bit more like fun to me.
E1: Oh It's easy. I don't know how to show, but it will be easy for you.

OK so you get the picture so far guys? I'm panicking and E1 is getting excited and escalating.

Couple of days later...rrrring....hello....E2!!!!
Hi E1, how are you?
E1: great great, here's what we will do. We will enter Claire, Warkant, Halla, you show Halla because she is easy and loves to show, oh and maybe I will enter Alme too.
E2: WHAT? Why don't we enter the horses too. We could just take the whole bunch. What happened to just you and I, relaxed at a dog show?
E1: No, no this will be fun.
E2: first, we don't even have room to take all of these dogs and I'm way too nervous to do this, so lets not.
E1: Leave it with me, now get off my phone. Bye.

There y'all have it.
HEEEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

E2's pretty much dead on accurate... and as you can see from the quote above, that was what I call a soft "no" ... which I take to mean, "Sure, let's give it a try, I've always wanted to show a Doberman, let me see if I have something to wear in the ring ." :)

Now get off my phone. :p

This is more fun then a barrel of monkeys!!

I am not sure where the quote came from E1......but it always reminds me of the movie the "Christmas Story" and my mother who would say it on a daily basis to me!

I am happy to hear that you guys are so ambitious. I am not so sure. First I don't know the evil doers as well as you. I couldn't recognize a friend either. I have been in the ring twice with my dane. The first time I was supposed to be taking a friend with my dogs brother. We were all set to leave at 3am. It was a bit of a drive to the Cumberland shows from our area in Md. I called to tell her I was getting ready to leave to pick her up and she bailed out. So I sat for a few and decided to go alone. It rained and blew all the way. I had to stop to let Chance out and I did at the rest area on the mountain. I thought we were going to roll off it was so steep. Well, long story short we won. But he was the only dog there. He didn't get best of winners since the only bitch did. But we got a point. His first I believe. The only other time my handler was of course in another ring. This judge decided to do a different route, up over and down just wasn't good enough for him to do. I of course was first in line. I have a tough time hearing anyway. He says go up and over and back, then come back to me. Well, we were like "I love Lucy" we went up and over then swiveled around and sort of came back crooked.. I was white as a sheet and feeling pretty darn stupid. Needless to say we didn't even get a sympathy fourth. So, I would love to drive to the show and be the shopper, watcher and picture taker.

Well, we were like "I love Lucy" ...

Hey, that works... or you could simply be the one who takes the photos. The beauty of this is that there are no expectations... other than that we enjoy ourselves. :)

Btw, here is what inspires me: Brentina is in season and Warkant has a full head of steam… I was watching him in the run this morning, he’s pissed that he can’t run around and play like he usually does… he’s fired up like a breeding stallion waiting for a mare. I’m guessing that most of you can visualize what I mean, he is up on his toes, neck arched, topline firm and tensed… absolutely stunningly glorious. To my eye he's come up one leg since he finished, he's beautifully muscled, in perfect weight, and is entering the prime of his life... at this moment he's all we 'd ever hoped for. If I could capture what I see this morning in the ring, he’s a BIS dog. But judges don't do home visits to make awards. Rats!!!

"First I don't know the evil doers as well as you!"

First, you see, you have the headmaster of the Gravelle School of Handling in attendance. Then, you have the Supertop agent of ringside espionage/intelligence gathering, Secret Agent E1. You, my friend, become the illustrious third, much like the role of Moe in the three stooges.:p Now, if it was ME, E1, and E2, that would not be so innocent. As Lewis Black says, "It was like a trifecta from Hell!!!":D:D:D
