AKC Announces Appointment of Margaret Poindexter to General Counsel

The American Kennel ClubŪ has announced the appointment of Margaret H. Poindexter to General Counsel. She is replacing Michael F. Swick who is retiring after seven years with the AKCŪ.
The General Counsel and the legal staff are called upon by the AKC Board and staff to review, draft, and negotiate contracts, manage all litigation, protect AKC’s intellectual property, provide legal counsel and corporate advice, monitor compliance issues, and prosecute charges filed under the AKC disciplinary system.
We wish Ms Poindexter all the best. Was wondering though, is Heather still with the Dept.? Did she not want the promotion?
