I am having my wisdom teeth extracted this morning. Any unusual dumbass posts by me are a result of this procedure!:D

It went well I suppose. I may have permanent nerve damage though. One the lower ones had the nerve all entngled the root. So half of my lower lip and jaw is numb. Could be worse though. I just hope I don't bite my lip off.

Andy.
Ugh- I feel for you having had the procedure myself. My 19 yr old just had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. I hope you are in better shape than she was :-(.

I feel no pain. I have a great cocktail of meds! Demerol with some nausea med. The three wisdom teeth I had were all impacted. I am not really that swollen yet.

Just keep taking the meds. Just because you don't feel pain, it doesn't mean it isn't there waiting to pounce. And you definitely don't want it to pounce.

Trust me.

I had pain pounce on me when I had my ACL reconstruction. I had to go to the hospital to get it under control. I also have occassional migraines. When they pounce there is no stopping them.

Thank you for your thoughts!!!

It may be that Andy's face is soooo swollen his eyes won't open! At least that's what happened to me. And my jaw was wired shut for nine weeks because they broke it! Andy, I hope your experience was better than mine, and that the one wisdom tooth unaccounted for is either gone or congenitally missing (the only good missing tooth, right?)! I hope you remain pain free and have a quick recovery. Prayers to you, my sibling of smart ass! :pLove ya bud, keep the faith!

sibling of smartass....that is great.

Some more swelling today. The pain is ok with the meds. One of the upper ones never developed. I can begin to eat solids today so that is cool.

Pretty much bored at this point. Right now I am watching the four legged family members play and raise hell because the squirrels are taunting them.

Hopefully my wife will drive me to handling class tonight so can I do something other than read or watch TV.

Well here is an update.....I had two dry sockets. That was not fun at all. Now I have the taste of cloves in my mouth. I don't know which is worse the dry sockets or the clove taste. At least I can take meds for pain. I don't know what to do about this crappy clove taste. A gasoline mouthwash might be my last resort.:D

"I don't know what to do about this crappy clove taste. A gasoline mouthwash might be my last resort."

I've been told that ONE CURE works for wisdom teeth, acne, freckles, the common cold, failing economy, and poor judging. I've been told to go UNDER WATER and take 3 DEEP BREATHS!!!!:p:p:p;). Okay, don't do this! But to those of us with a pathological bent, "That thar joke is funny."
ANDY, feel better. I miss my Tweedle Dee! (please note, that makes ME Tweedle Dumb...poetic license:cool:)

I hate cloves!!! I suppose I should have told the surgeon this before he jammed these clove oil soaked gauze pads in the holes. "This might taste funny." Ya think? Freaking cloves.

Hey there Andy......I am right there with you on the dry sockets being no fun!!
I had one when my wisdom teeth were removed. The meds made it better, like you said, but it was pretty darn uncomfortable!

Hope you made it to handling class my friend!
