Tell us about yourself! Great to see another hound person. I would assume IW, but could be Borzoi for all I know! Oh, and we LOVE pictures, in case you didn;t figure that out!:p

You're girls name is...ah...Mica? Micah? Story please? And please tell you little girl to just SIT on Muse/Moose.:D Honestly, she thinks that ALL dogs play the dober way, which is VERY direct. My dogs just sit on her head when she plays psyche games. She's SUCH a punk!:p:p:p

Hello All at DSNN,
After many requests for an introduction here it is. My name is Samantha and I am the VERY pround owner of the tallest recognized breed in the AKC.....the Irish Wolfhound.
I first started in AKC junior handling and 4-H with Weimaraners (showed several and finished one dog) and was quite successful at some of the Boise shows (if any one has ever gone to the Capital City or Lizard Butte shows you may have seen me there). I also titled a couple dogs (some of which didn't belong to my family) in Canine Good Citizen/Companion and AKC Junior/Senior Hunt Tests. I even helped my mom whelp a few litters since our stud especially seemed quite in demand. But that was all pretty easy since I was handling my parents dogs.
Once I graduated High school and moved away to go to college I knew I didn't want to quit showing dogs. Like a good owner I did my research and selected a breed that would fit my lifestyle. The IW is for sure the PERFECT dog for me and so far I can't think of another breed I would rather own (no offense to anyone else I really have a great appreciation for all AKC breeds large and small).
My bitch, Gomeric Lycans Idona O'Erin aka "Lyca" is the first dog I have ever personally owned (with MY name on the papers and everything!) and since I got her i've been dying to get back in the ring. I'm a true addict!!!!
I always have lots of questions and love to get feedback and hear what everyone else has experienced. I've found it can be hard to find others who have experience with raising IW so if anyone out there has one i'd love to meet you!!!
Best Regards,
Samantha & Lyca
