All
Yesterday Oct 26 we had our 5th annual DAR&E BBQ. Thankfully the weather cooperated and we had a 65 degree sunny day.
We hosted about 135 adopters, volunteers, potential adopters and folks just interested in learning more about the breed.
Amongst all the folks we had around 65 dobes as well:)
This was our biggest turnout ever.
This is a wonderful way to stay in touch with adopters and catch up with everyone and finally meet and attach faces with names.
The Halloween costume was a hoot and our contest winner was a fawn dobe dressed like a chicken complete with yellow toe nail polish and a whole lotta feathers.
The costumes ranged from pirates, to dalmation, to football players and all in between and someone actually had their dog dressed as "velcro".
Additionally we had six dobes all pass their CGC test as well. Wahoo!
The food was to die for featuring true Southern BBQ.
Our photographers are now going thru the daunting task of rooting thru hundreds of pic's which we hope to have on our website very soon.
I will let everyone know when they are up as I know no one wants to miss the yellow toe nailed chicken:)
The baskets raffled were spectacular and included a wine basket, doggie only basket, an amazing golf basket package and chocolate basket and additionally a $100 gas card raffle. Sadly I didnt win any of them.
My two kids are pooped and managed to rally enough this am to eat breakfast and slither back to bed.
All monies raised will be put forth to of course pay vet bills, spays, neuters, treat HW and so forth.
I can bet money that all the dobes in Va, DC and Md area's all have the same plan for today after attending the BBQ yesterday........... Snoozing:)
I think I shall now join my doberkids for a nap of my own after such a busy day.
