Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the town
The dogs were all barking and all at the pound
Santa had heard all their calls for help
From the biggest woof to the smallest yelp
He heard the beagle whooing for a buddy to play
What better time than Christmas day
He heard the boxer, dachshund, and greyhound as well
They all wanted out of this living hell
Not much to ask, only someone to care
Love them as much as the love they could share
They’ll sit and down for a new best friend
Outta the shelter their hearts would mend
The retriever and shepherd all told Santa the same
Being unwanted was their biggest shame
They all had hope cause Santa had heard
He told them he’d help and he kept his word
The bichon, maltese and even the rottie
Been on their best foot, and never been naughty
The pug, Chihuahua, lab and cock-a-poo
All had been good, and the dalmation too
Donner and Blizten had searched the small town
To find them a master they could call their own
Dasher and Dancer had helped as well
To get these pups from their living hell
But it was Rudolph who came to show them the light
A home for all, oh what a sight
He led them each to their new best friend
All found a home, but this wasn’t the end
When all was over and all out of sight,
A lonely dobe appeared in the night
Santa wasn’t thru and he was still aware
Folks who love Dobermans, and they were called DAR&E
So he put in a call to those he knew would help
The dobe danced with glee and started to yelp
He had heard tales of this group and told they care
And now he had hope, he was going to DAR&E
So it was on this Christmas eve at the stroke of midnight
He found his forever and oh what a sight
And so this sweet dobe had found the love of his life
Saved by DAR&E at the stroke of midnight
And so he is happy and just living the life

He’ll never forget how Santa did care
He found love from a group called DAR&E
