In building our new website, we had decided one area of focus would be the absolute joys of considering or adopting an older dog.
One of our members wrote this piece and I wanted to share it.

and scroll down to Brutus story. It may take just a minute to load so be patient.
Altho puppies are most darling, fun, and a joy, I love an older dog as well.
While my current two are far from seniors (I have an 8 1/2 year old red girl who is hell on wheels mind, body and soul, and my 5 1/2 year old red male)
I fell hard for the older dogs when we fostered and adopted an older male several years ago who was going to be shot for killing chickens to survive. And while I thought we could offer "learning" to him, we found the tables were turned and he taught us so much more than we ever taught him.
I hope we all can know the joy that Brutus' Mom got from an old boy who just needed a home.
