My main doberman Will sleeps under the covers. We were snuggling this morning, and he decided to pop out. I hear a "KaThud", wallow my way outta the covers, and see him struggling to stand, with myBella trying to 'help'. His heart was thudding along at about 140ish, nice & strong, front legs locked, and after about 3-4 minutes he came back to himself. He ate breakfast normally, went on a slightly longer than normal morning walkie (his choice), and seemed to have no side-effects. This is the first time he's had anything like this.

We have an appointment w/'our' vet next Monday. At his annual checkup this summer the other vet said he had a slight murmur, and we lost his littermate brother Logan in September to cardio. I was hoping that Will'd last to a ripe old age: somebody give me ideas about what it could be, besides cardio.... :(

Well, the visit to the vet was.....

about what could be expected. Lungs clear, no heart enlargement on rads, but he has a murmur rated 4.5 outa 6. :( I can tell a change in his heart rythm/quality since last week...

So he now gets an assortment of pills with his meals: Pimobendan, Elanapril, Taurine, and Fish Oil.

The good news: his level of activity hasn't changed -- he's still enjoying walkies, romping w/his sis, and meeting new people.

Now if that annoying foster would just find a home....
