My attempt at a Christmas picture in front of the tree did not even allow for one shot of sitting still Julie. :(
It appears that E1 was right. Alme is obedient if it happens to suit her needs at that moment. :D
Anyways, this is the best I could get.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone from Tom, Elaine, Q & A

All
I am quite jealous of these gorgeous photo's. :)
My Dallas has terrible fears of camera's. Shelter told me this when I picked him up but I poo poo'd it thinking I could get him to come around. Not to be.........sigh.
Kayla DOES love the camera but rather than freak Dallas out, its not to be.
This Christmas photo is of my beloved boy Chance from 1994. It is my favorite

Kathleen, love the photo of Chance, wow... really really nice.

E2, is Q resting his chin on the arm of the chair? He looks exasperated. or like he's just lost his best friend. As for Almé, she's had a camer in her face since the day she was born. As I recall we took about 3000 photos last year just trying to capture the "perfect" Christmas shot... poor little thing must cringe when she sees a camera. Here are two of her at about 4 weeks. Even then you could clearly see the potential for cuteness. :)

Tungsten, Muse, and Bah (humbug) have decided to go and visit folks that are hospitalized
In a local rehab center. Veterans, the medically fragile, and those who's families have
Chosen to forget them will receive doggie love for the entire day.
Then, we will intentionally set out for Denny's. I've never set out for Denny's, it always seems to be where one ends up. Either way, we will try to get pictures. Kudos to E1 for placing two kids with me that love to give back in a very special way. Muse loves it too. By the way E1, who is the lil red girl with the red collar in the baby pic above?

Very cute Carole Ann... very very cute. You seem full of Christmas Cheer. :)

Some of us here need a whopping dose of Christmas spirit... not sure if it's the economy or what. Julie sent this link to a YouTube video it's pretty darn cute.

Here's a few thoughts for beginning the New Year. - ron bell

"Man's main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is."- Erich Fromm

"The Noah rule: Predicting rain doesn't count; building arks does."- Warren Buffett

"The way to mend the bad world is to create the right world." - Emerson

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." - Martin Luther King Jr

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein

"No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. " - Amelia Earhart

"You miss 100% of the shots you never take."- Wayne Gretsky

"Courage is the human virtue that counts most - courage to act on limited knowledge and insufficient evidence. That's all any of us have."- Robert Frost

"Leadership is about making a vision happen." -Lorraine Monroe

"It is the heart always that sees before the head can see."- Thomas Carlyle

"I have heard it said that living out of our vision is more powerful than living out of our circumstance. Holding on to a vision invokes the circumstances by which the vision is achieved."--Marianne Williamson

"We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same."- Carlos Castaneda

"He who angers you, controls you! " - unknown

"Like me, you are one of the most intelligent, wise, good-hearted, creative and beautiful human beings I have ever met." - Ronald Bell (I just threw this one in to see if you were really reading these quotes. ;-)

"When the opposites are realized to be one, discord melts into concord, battles become dances, and old enemies become lovers. We are then in a position to make friends with all of our universe and not just half of it." - Ken Wilbur

May the love in your heart light your way in 2009! - rb

That is so cute Janice.. you really are good at this stuff... I tried to put a hat on one of the animal's in a photo... but this is as good as I got, so I gave up...

... and moved right on to making a simply fabulous card that I was going to email out this morning... even had three versions of it for Arthur to choose which he liked best... here they are... all three, just one small mistake.

The reader might like to know that Ahb (rhymes with Bob) is short for “Ah Brentina” as in, “Ah, Brentina, could you let your brother up?” Five minutes later, “Ah, Brentina, could you give your brother back his head?” Five minutes later, “Ah, Brentina, could you let your brother live at least through to the end of the day?” Five minutes later, “Ah, Brentina, could you…” Her name eventually got shortened to Ah B. We now often call her Ahb.

http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp21/logresfarm/image1.gif

Twas the Day After Christmas (with apologies to Clement C. Moore)

Twas the day after Christmas, and all through the house
Most creatures were napping, even the mouse;
The kitchen was crammed with Holiday treats
I’d been baking for Arthur, for a Post-Christmas feast.
The Dobes were all nestled, most snug on my bed,
While visions of rawhide chews danced in their heads.
Claire and Ahb by the tree, and Flip in my lap,
I’d just settled down for a short little nap.

When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I sprang up from my snooze to see what was the matter.
Away down the hall I flew like a flash,
Rounding the corner to a pile of trash.
And there in the glow of the new-fallen clutter
was a shock to my senses, that made my heart flutter.
For what to my wondering eyes should I see,
But a pile of baked goods and broken debris.
With dear Lil Claire so lively and shrewd,
I knew in a moment Post-Christmas was screwed.

More rapid than eagles my curses they came,
And I whistled, and shouted, and screamed without shame;
“Damn it Claire! Damn it! What the hell have you done?
Put down that turkey wing! Claire! This is not fun!”

From her snooze by the tree, Ahb heard my call!
Now on she came, on she came, chew toy and all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So into the room, Ahb and Flip they did fly,
With the worst of intentions. I wanted to cry.
For in a twinkling, round the kitchen they flew,
Three dogs in the midst of this holiday goo.

As I drew myself up, and was turning around,
Down the stairs ‘ol Titan came with a bound.
They were dressed all in food, from their heads to their toes,
Claire topped off the look with some crumbs on her nose;
Titan’s eyes how they twinkled, his tail, how merry
It twitched like a rattle snake out on the prairie.
(Okay, not a classic Christmas image, but hey, you try rhyming something with “merry”)
Making a play bow, he entered the frey
Soon the four were as white as the snow Christmas Day.

Round the kitchen they flew, in whirl of fur,
Made one hell of a mess; So, what else could occur?
Never ask that question, best let it pass.
The answer will bite you, on your rosy red a_ _!
The stump of a chew toy, Ahb held tight in her teeth,
which Titan lunged for, like some common old thief;
Being no match for Ahb, not on his best day,
She struck back at her brother, for this he would pay.
Titan jumped right, knocked the clock off the shelf,
I lunged to save it, in spite of myself;
In a wink of an eye I was flat on the floor,
They stopped for a moment, then raced out the door.

I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work,
After filling the garbage can, turned to each lil’ jerk.
And waving my finger at this motley white crowd,
I said the words they most feared, and said them out loud.
Then I sprang to the bathtub, to the team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle,
Though I heard them exclaim, ere they raced out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all and to all a Food Fight.”

http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp21/logresfarm/bell02.gifWell, New Years is only a few days away… seems that everyone’s had a lovely holiday. Some are working through the holidays, some are spending time with family and friends, at least three of us are sitting, watching, waiting for puppies; the New Year holds promise of good things to come. Best of all, we have shared a year of triumphs and challenges among friends. Seems to me that it just doesn’t get a whole lot better. Here are some of the photos from extended family and friends for you all to enjoy.

The pic's are wonderful!
I am VERY jealous of those that include snow. In Md we have only had a few dustings so far this year. I am waiting patiently for a big one.:)
Unbelievably it is 60 degrees today which is highly unusual for this time of year. But then again, last week it was like 15. Go figure.
Love the pics of the dobes in the snow.
Hoping everyone has a really nice New Year!

They are all great shots!
Love Warkant's tag line... A Dober-boy after my own heart!

I took some shots of the dogs out at Valley Forge Park on Christmas day. They are a little crazy......Vaako kept yanking the flexi and getting annoyed with stopping to take a pic! How rude of me, I was interrupting his deer hunting!
Bob couldn't master the art of dog, flexi and take picture! LOL!

Not much snow in my area of PA , a tad disappointing. Today is 60 degrees and grey at 9 am. Some white stuff would be the deal!
