Here are my 2009 New Years Resolutions
1. less mice

Aside from that, I vow to have absolutely no items on my to do list by this time next year. I could just burn the list though....:D

Andy, you can’t resolve to have firmer thighs and here’s why. “Er” is relative to someone else’s thighs. I didn’t resolve to have "firm" thighs, just firmer than the person’s next to me.:p Mine have to be “er” than some one else’s thighs. Men by nature have firm thighs. If you resolve to have even firmer thighs, you are simply setting the bar too high for me. :( I need as many people as possible to not have firmer thighs in comparison to me to make this resolution work with the least amount of stress and toil, otherwise, I will have to put down the cookies and exercise  ... and New Year’s resolution or no, I am not really ready to do that.:o
So, either you resolve to have firmer something elses, e.g. calves, hamstrings… etc. or I’ll have to change #1 above to something else, but what. Hmmm? Maybe less Christmas decorations… :D
E:
well #3 sounds so much like you!! Can you really make that a resolution??
Mine are:
1: To have the motivation to follow through with my resolutions!!
problem I have always had.
2. Make resolutions. Don't usually make them because I know I will not follow through. (makes sense don't you think?!)
3 Make resolutions I can actually keep.
like finish Patrick Championship this year.
get at least one herding title on him this year.
on hey, always my favorite. Loose weight!

Ok Elaine. But I must make note that my thighs are not really that firm in comparison to the thighs of my youth. You demanding me to resolve that something else be more firm is really setting this thread up for failure! It reminds of a male enhancement commercial on late night television.:D:D:D I will resist to go any further.

hmmm? this is a wrong direction...
So, my new resolution to replace my former #2 above is: To celebrate the joy in life... each and every day. Screw firmer thighs… and pass the Christmas cookies! :D

:D Well...I am sure we all could wish for somethings to be firmer!
I for one will be happy with all my "ers" and move along to enjoying everyday for what it brings, as my friend Elaine said.
I used to think it was mandatory to make a resolution every year, not so much anymore. I accept who I am, who he is and deal with what comes....and goes.
Some days, like today, are so much better then others. The days like this are what make it all worth while, when you call good friend up to tell them great news and they laugh and cry with you. That is what makes it all good. Because wether it was good or bad, the laughing and crying would be there and you suddenly realize what we do life in general for.....these days.
Happy New Year everyone and enjoy your "days"!

Firmer would be nice but probably won't happen here.
I don't make resolutions but in a reflective mood think of where I'm going (hopefully) for the coming year and how I can accomplish what I want to do.
I also mull over the lows and highs of the past year and generally can say I'm a very lucky person.
Part of the fortunate happenings in the past two years is being connected to a great group on new friends thanks to E#1 and for that I'm very grateful. So to all new friends met through E#1 and Wei and new friends made on DSNN I'd like to wish you all a prosperous, healthy and wonderful 2009!

When I was young, I use to never make "New Year's Resolutions."
Now I do; and, I stick by them because I have learned that no one looks out for you except yourself. And, it is you that has to live with the aftermath.
My "New Year's Resolution" is to be a much sharper business person.

My resolution is to quit smoking, take the money I would have spent on them and put it into a membership at a local area that has a great gym with a pool....hopefully this will results in firmer everything....plus running around the ring won't be quite as big a chore! I have tried the Chantix route...but I am going cold turkey and rewarding myself this time with positive benfits like the gym membership..........

My resolution is def get my butt back in gear and get back into obedience class with Dallas. Its not so much he needs it :D but that he loves to go and socialize.
Another resolution is get back on my low-fat no-fat diet.
This past year I lost about 40lbs and DO NOT plan on gaining that back.
So, this am, all the Christmas goodies went out with the trash and a visit to grocery store for healthier selections this am.
My husband has been given instruction that whatever cakes, cookies etc he brings in gets hidden.

Was playing around with some photos of the past year... and one or two from the year before... and see what happened. So, Resolution #4: I firmly resolve to back away from Adobe Photoshop before I get to this point

No fat/low fat :)
All joking aside, this is how I did it. I also used the Alli diet plan.
While on this diet, if you eat high fat, the consequences can be brutal:)
It was a wonderful deterent when selecting food choices:)
My weight loss was a needed give me as I had went and had a physical.
Unbeknownst to me, my blood pressure and cholesterol were not good at all.
My cholesterol levels were off the charts.
I stepped on the scale this am. and have gained 4 lbs over the holidays so TODAY we started right back to being vigilante.
Darn Elaine.........did ya hafta mention cookies?

Congrats on the 40 lbs!! Keep up the great work! Men and cookies, huh? Bob likes sweets, I can live without them.
If Elaine took any weight off, she would disappear! E1 is a slim, fit woman I would love to have her humming bird metabolism:).
Always easier for me to build the muscle and be big, rather then try and be a skinny chick;).
The pictures are great. What fun we had this past season at those shows.
My favorite one of Vaako and Diego....." The Kiss". I have a boat load of great Win Pics, but that one makes me get teary.
Our good friends are back from Argentina and ready to roll out again. Welcome home you two, we missed you!!
Great family shots E1!!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Some of the photos are precious beyond words for one reason or the other… like all of us together when Contender finished, or Diego kissing Vaako, or the head shot of DeNiro, or Kelly with Wei… or E2 out in the pasture at 7:00 a.m. with a lounge whip chasing the mares around so I could get the Christmas Card photo, freezing her katuckus off… all so I could get the bleepin photo. A few of the photos just make me laugh… like the one of Bob and Cheryl ringside, from the back. Not sure what the caption should be… but that is a mountain of a man. :D

You should have gotten E2 with whip i hand running through the field!!!:D
That's my boy! He is an unlikely dog show husband...isn't he? Love it!
They are all amazing and something like this colection brings around the memories, smiles and tears attached to them. Thanks for doing it.
Cheryl
My favorite one of Vaako and Diego....." The Kiss".
I have to agree. That is a very touching photograph because it captures a moment of unplanned, spontaneous affection, a poignant moment.

My advice… everyone needs a camera like E2’s… and snap away, because you never know what great photo you’ll get. That moment in the ring when Diego kissed Vaako was genuine, one of those unscripted moments of truth between two comrades, reflecting the relationship they have. There are a few others of Vaako looking at Diego with total adoration and respect. That connection is rare… kind of like what you see in this photo of our trainer Elly Schobel and Cooldanz (one of the stallion’s we sold to England). There were about 30 stallions in the barn at the time the photo was taken… Cooldanz was just a young guy, Elly has stopped to adjust her boot, Cooldanz’s attention and focus were solely on her reflecting the relationship the two had. The one under saddle reflects their working relationship.
