hey, that's great... great way to start the New Year!!! Here is a link to the results http://www.infodog.com/RESULTS/2009106301/200910630134200.HTM Just looking at the specials, this seem like it's gonna be a tough circuit.

The catalog for today's show is up, here http://www.infodog.com/RESULTS/2009106302/200910630234200.HTM but it is not marked yet... but when it is, this will be the link for the results. Warren Hudson is the judge today...

Carissa Demilta won today with her red bitch and took a group 3 I believe. Ann White will be down with Reigny for the Brooksville shows so the competetion goes up a notch.

A few interesting things caught my eye... there are no Trotyl kids in the classes... at least none that I can see. Does that mean that there are no young Trotyl kids on the East coast this year? Or does it mean that the owners of Troytl kids got hit by the economy?

And one wonders why three of the top dogs in the country want to bash it out in the same place. Seems that now would be the time to go anywhere else but Florida; a BIS is a BIS. And regardless of who comes out on top on that circuit, people will attribute it to connections and/or the judging anyway, so why not spread out a bit. Especially going in to Westminster? And, given that Terry in on the Panel, and Nancy now backs C.J., do you think they will show C.J. at the Garden?

I would assume they would show CJ at the Garden, but I don't know for sure. I didn't know Nancy was backing her now. It does seem kind of crazy that the handlers are battling it out in the same place but I guess that is the nature of Florida circuit. I believe Diego double entered in VA where the judges look a little better, but I doubt he wants to do the driving plus the weather is a factor.

There are some Trotyl puppies out on the east coast but I think it is just a sign of the times. I believe the entry for Deland was in the 40's. Not long ago those shows were 100+. That is a long and expensive circuit to send puppies on.

Showing dogs is a luxury... more so now than ever. I think we will see the impact of the economy in lower entries. NO question about that.

Couple of other things… for me, it’s nice to be able to sit back and watch this play out not being involved to the point where I’d want to throttle someone.

At the Garden I think Betty will like "pretty." That may favor two of these bitchs. The breed rings at the Garden are about average size… but the Group Ring is enormous. Seems to me that a Breed judge at the Garden would want to send on a dog that can move… which may favor one of the bitches over the other. I would not be surprised if some people object to the Nancy - Terrry connection at the Garden. We'll have to see how it plays out. Glad I am not directly involved.

As for the months ahead, I think these handlers will have their hands full... but they are all up to the challenge. It's what they do and how the game is played. Nothing new about it. It will be "active" ... wish we could actually discuss this blow-by-blow, but if we did, the dog show world as we know it would come to an end. :D

They are all nice bitches. Having them all out as specials is GOOD for the breed. I am thrilled not to be footing the bill for any of this.

Just gat a call from Carmen... C.J. won the Breed today, Monday Jan 12, 2009 and got a Group I... also, Carmen wanted to me to be sure to tell you all that C.J. will not be shown at the Garden for exacty the reasons Ron and I discussed above on this thread... i.e. that Terrry is on the panel and Nancy backs C.J. You gotta admire Team C.J. for making that clear.
