Well I am excited to announce that our Tabitha was bred today to a very lovely stud, Reggie. Reggie won best in breed over 4 other specials at the Ft. Wayne Indiana show late last year. What is even more impressive is that his handler was a novice. A novice would be an understatement actually. This was his very first time taking a dog into the ring with zero handling training or practice. Beginners luck or just an awesome dog???
At this same show Tabitha's daughter took winners bitch. So there is some irony.
With any luck and of course miracles this will produce some lovely puppies. I see some square puppies with excellent heads and tight feet in the near future. Please say a prayer for us!!!

Wishing you all the best... hope your litter is all that you wish for and more... as for litter size... would 10 puppies be enough? :D

Actually I am just hoping for 4...two on each horn of the uterus. Her first litter consisted of 3 and one grew to be way too large. That big boy unfortunately got stuck.
Is my thinking correct that the bigger the litter the smaller the pups?

10 would definitly be enough! ;)
Both Flex annd Deca came from large litters, 10 and 9 respectivley. All normal size dobies pups, all happy and healthy.

Ali,
You are familiar with Reggie? I didn't think anyone here followed toy fox terriers. He is a very nice boy. I think he could definitely be a top ten TFT if they wanted to persue it. I don't think that they could stand to be away from him during his campaign though...
This is a line breeding of the great Baron. It should definitely produce some interesting pups. Hopefully not ten though. Ten would be a bad thing for Tabitha.

Hi Andy
All the best with your breeding. Hopefully you won't have more pups than you are hoping for and all goes well. How many pups do they usually have?

I got to see him win last year in Indiana, have a friend who has a few little monsters and end up watching the ring for her often
He was a dog who has stuck with me

I really really like him. Janine and Marty are showing him at the Indy Winter Classic in Feb. Do you plan to attend? I will most likely show Eva Sat. and Sun.
This was his first breeding. I told them it should definitely not be his last. Janine and Marty are extremely nice people. I have some photos that I will post as soon as I scan them.

You know Sheila I didn't know the average until I looked it up. Apparently the average is 2-3. I don't want to see that due to Tabitha having a small pelvic region. If one puppy gets too large, under the knife she goes. If it happens again I think she will be spayed this time. Actually that brings me to a new topic. I will start a thread for this.
