View Full Version : Patrick Pentangle Forever and Back
So I can't even begin to beat Breed and a Group 4 from the 6-9 class. What a day that must have been.
But my little Patrick. :pThe cutest Bearded Collie around. Went BOS from the 9-12 class over a special for 3 pt major. He has only been out 3 times I think.
He lost to the big kids today and took Reserve on Saturday but that day was done before it started if you get my drift. But he had a great time and that is what counts at this point.
I have had a few dogs in the past that do not like to show so this is fun.

Oh Julie… It is so nice to see Patrick grown and starting to look like a big boy. From what I can tell from the video (link below), he seems to have the best shoulders and most level top-line of any dog in the ring, certainly of the class dogs anyway. I could not see much of the Special that won, but Patrick was an easy choice. His make and shape and overall proportions are really really nice and he carries himself very very well. And of course he was groomed beautifully and presented very well. Btw, who is that handler? L-O-V-E-D the photo of you from at the end of the video. Btw, cute that they could re-play the “Beardie Bounce.”
Here is a video of Patrick, in the ring... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UTMdAM2NLU FYI, for those who do not know Julie, she is at the very end of the video ... in a photo with Patrick up close.
He is ADORABLE! What a great attitude that guy has - and boy does he love his handler! He just couldn't take his eyes off her!
Great job!!!

Patrick is clearly lovin what he's doin and who he's doin it with and ditto for his handler! Her red jacket looks soo pretty with his color. And I love the music!! It is exciting to see such a gorgeous puppy off to such a great start!!

Congrats!! I also loved the video!!:)
Elaine:
that was Dixie ( I think you would remember as Dixie Perry) She used to be maried to Bob. And Christy Marley is her daughter. She used to show the Widells dogs. Is it all coming back to you know???
For the others, she is a profesional hander her and was handling someone elses dogs. Then had to hand Patrick off to someone else. She also did a good job. But Dixie is calm, cool and collected. She knew exactly how to handle Patrick when he had his little bouncing moment.
Thanks for all the nice words about my new boy. I think he is a keeper. We just have to practice standing and not sitting. OOOOPS was I suppose to have that down my 6 mths???:p:p:p. As Elaine will tell you, practicing was not my long suit.

You bet I remember Dixie... nice to know she is still around. She did a lovely job with Patrick. About the “Beardie Bounce" ... it's a trademark move... cute, cute, cute… all the BIS Beardies “bounce.” Don’t change a thing. :)
I loved watching your video. What a beautiful dog!
I have to say after watching that one I watched Patrick A Love Story. I love that video. The two of you are adorable in it. I have 3 girls and I very much reminds me of them and the bond they share with our dogs past and present.
I also want to say that second to the doberman, my husband has always wanted a beardie. I may have to start researching the breed to someday surprise him.
Thanks for sharing it made my day.

Julie
We had a beardie in our training class (obedience) that was delightful.
He was about 11 months old and in our advanced class and rock solid.
He was actually going to be used in his owners extermination company.
I had never heard of such a thing but his job was to be dealing with termites.
The obedience work was an absolute must since he would be going into homes with his owner.
This was several years ago when we had first adopted our boy Riley(dobe) who had a few issues in the beginning. One was he did NOT like other males.
The beardie by coincidence was also named Riley.
They had started in basic together and worked on to advanced plus.
I would like to think that beardie Riley helped my dobe Riley become tolerant of other males.
