Does anyone use daily products for keeping your dogs prostate healthy? I noticed a few drops of blood on Nash's blanket a few mornings ago and wondered if there is something I should be giving the boys to promote healthy prostates.

p.s. have heard of supplimenting Saw Palmetto? Has anyone done this?

Hi Tina,
I supplement Trotyl with saw palmetto as a preventative measure. Not sure if it works or not but it is fairly popular in use for two-legged males.

Tina, if you are seeing drops of blood you need to get a urine sample to the vet. They can figure it out quickly if he has a prostate issue or a urinary issue. If you let it go he can have other issues pup up...Stones...and you don't want that. If he has an inflamed prostate there is meds that can be given to bring it down.
Just had a good friend loose her male because it...
Yes, most males are on Saw Palmetto including my boy.

They will be able to tell....There is degrees of yellow. Is there a female in season that he has been around, show grounds, with a handler or anywhere? Could he have hurt himself that you didn't see and that caused it??? I had blood spots where the dogs sleep last week and it was my older girl with chin pimples that popped. So had to take care of that.
Good luck with his appt.

Ok...Did I offend anyone? Because my post was removed. That's ok, it wasn't that important anyway.
