We note that Mr. Sanjay Kahn has joined DSNN. Welcome Sanjay!
For those who need an introduction, Mr. Khan resides in India, he contacted Elaine and I about a year ago, wanting a Trotyl – Brentina puppy, and we have maintained semi-regular contact ever since. For a variety of reasons, our impression of Mr. Khan is very favorable. Our impression is that Mr. Khan is a man of integrity, who is passionate about Dobermans. Specifically, he is intensely focused on owning and showing truly top quality Dobermans. With his drive and desire, he could purchase many dogs from breeders here in the USA. We have found him to be very selective. He tracks American breedings, American bloodlines and American handlers. He is about as knowledgeable about bloodlines as any American who has ever contacted us.
As you know, the problem with India is the distance and the fear of how the puppy will end up. I can tell you that if Mr. Khan lived here in the US, it is very likely we’d have already sold him a nice puppy. Frankly, I wish more Americans shared Mr. Khan's enthusiasm. And, who knows, with all the legislation aimed directly at our breed, in the years ahead India may be the only place to find a cropped - docked Doberman. For a variety of reasons, we find it increasingly difficult to ignore the enthusiasm of breeders in India. It might be time to build bridges to these Doberman breeders / exhibitors.
Anyway, I hope that DSNN members take the time to get to know Mr. Kahn for who he is, not where he lives. We may find we have a great deal in common.. and we may all learn from each other.
