I was not happy about this:

Yesterday I took back two bags of dog food. One was a bag of Bil Jac and the other was a bag of Nutro Max Chicken Meal/Oatmeal. I had never opened them.

Well with receipt in hand, I had paid cash, they gave me a song and dance.

First I had to show them along with the receipt my ATM card and it had to match. If it didn't match they wanted to give me a "gift" card. I thought that was ridicolous! How could you "shoplift" a couple of dog food bags?

Then when they matched instead of giving me the cash, they wanted to "credit" my checking account.

I walked out of there with my cold hard cash. This angered me.

Years ago when I had problems with the twisted leg syndrone, I took the bag of dog food back, taped shut, and got my money back no questions asked. The manufactured guaranteed it. It too was Nurto Max product.

Petsmart does not carry Innova; nor does Petco carry Innova. It is really in boutique type stores here.

I bought Macy a ball, she likes it, but now I am mad that I even gave them any of my business.

Has anyone else run into this madness? I think they are trying to keep all the money they can due to this recession. But it certainly isn't doing them any good for return business. I will always remember this.

I have not had to return anything to Petsmart in years... but I sort of recall that when we lived in Ohio we had a bag of Bil Jac that was bad. Our experience was about like yours.. it leaves a very poor impression.

I no longer shop at stores like Petsmart. With all of the deaths due to poison from China, they still, 2 years later only carry treats etc from China. They do NOT care about your pets.
They are part of Corporate America and only care about their bottom line.

We have many small independent Pet stores around here and they do not carry anything with anything to do with China. If it is not totally produced, grown and manufactured in either Canada or the USA, they do not have it in their store. They got the message and they actually care about you and your pet.

I have been finding the little pet shop botiques so much better. I agree with you.

I have noticed over time Petsmart has turned to trash. That along with their "Banfield" veternairy shop. I find it full of inexperienced young vets. They also have a "daycare" with all these dogs running together. How do they keep from having a fight? I know Cesar does it, but I haven't been so lucky.

Its just that I have been dogless for about a year and now (until Macy) I am seeing how fast things can change.

Petsmart doesn't even have their horse department here anymore.
