View Full Version : Should I take down the Christmas Tree?

I’ve been struggling with this burning question .... my house has been decorated for Christmas for a while now, pretty much since about October of 2005 when Arthur was in Iraq - and I decorated the house early to get photos to send to him... of Christmas, garlands, wreaths, twinkly lights, stocking hung by the chimney with care… hand blown glass ornament that I’ve had for 40 plus years, presents under the tree, cherished mementos… the whole kit and caboodle. E2 just loved the look when she was here last fall. Just ask her. :p

I was wondering, do you all think I should take this stuff down? E2 is coming down again in late March and she has kindly offered to throw all my Christmas “crap” out on the lawn if it’s not down before she gets here. Maybe it's just me, and maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I'm starting to take this as a subtle hint that she's seen enough of Christmas At Elaine's. She a has a point, four solid years of Christmas may indeed be enough!!! :o

It’s too late to move… and she knows where I live. So, wha’d ya think. Should I take this stuff down. It’s all been up so long I can't imagine the living room with out Christmas (and I only really go in there once or twice a year anyway). Or should I just not answer the door when she comes?

Can't find any photos of the tree except these of the Elves.. which I made in 1980.

Tell E2 that if it isn't Christmas, she won't get those prezzies Santa brought!

That tree has to be getting dusty by now. Do you clean the tree? Sweep it perhaps? Take it through the carwash in the bed of your truck?:D

I felt bad for leaving our christmas lights out this year. I suppose I will take them down by the end of march. Maybe not.

Listen......It is almost Easter, here, take it down.
E2 knows my feelings. I made hast in yanking the damn wreath outside down.....my only tip o' the hat to the holiday. New Year's week was over and down it came.

I am not exactly the most festive of people. Unless of course, it is Halloween! Love my Halloween!! Tricks and Treats what more can one ask for:cool:

Oh those cute little elves are going to look adorable scattered all over the front lawn!!
E1, you can lock the door, but remember I know many other ways to get in now!! :D
The tree?...She's coming down!!!!
Besides, when the tree is down, it leaves us a space to fill with more new furniture. ;) That should be motivation.

Okay you guys. You Win! But do any of you have any idea how long it's gonna take to carefully de-construct my Menagerie -of -Christmas- Crap?

Was on the phone with Betty last night... we had a very nice conversation.... it occurs to me that there may be a better option to taking the tree down... and I agree, it's time. :D
