View Full Version : MBDPC Annual Specialty!!!
Hey, folks, the premium for the 2009 Metropolitan Baltimore Doberman Pinscher Club annual specialty is up!
http://www.infodog.com/clubs/2009198403.HTM
We hope you will consider joining us - our show kicks off the Cherry Cluster here in Maryland, a long weekend of great dog showing at the Cow Palace in Timonium, MD. As an added bonus for our show, an anonymous friend of our club has donated a special prize for Best of Breed: $250 cash award! Woo hoo!!!
We offer puppy and veteran sweeps in conformation and pre-novice obedience class - all on leash!
I'd love to see some of my cyber pals there!!

Wow... that sounds like a great show... great prize... lovely area... would be a fun day even if we didn't have an entry. What is the date of the show? :)
The show will be held on Friday, April 17 - closing date for entries is 4/1/09.

All
I had the pleasure of going to this event last year and it was really nice.
So many many vendors as well.
We got to take my boy Dallas as rescue ambassador which was nice as well.
MBDPC did a fabulous job with this.
I hope to attend this year as well with Dallas in tow.
Well, the closing date was yesterday! I meant to send a reminder and totally forgot!
Is anyone going to make the journey to Baltimore? If you are, please be sure to track me down on Friday - I'll be there at the crack of dawn giving out numbers and coffee!

I don't visit here too often and rarely post, but I just wanted to say what a nice show MBDPC put on yesterday........ and not just because I took WD/BOW from bred by :) I also want to say that although the entry was small in breed, the quality was deep - lots of really nice dogs!
I've never made the trek down to Maryland for this show and just wanted to go - Mariann also emailed me and asked if I was coming which got me to enter! My handler was not going so I decided to just show him myself for fun .... not thinking that I would win with my very non pro handling skills!
I just wish more people would make the effort to support the specialty clubs with their entries. I won't be able to make Penn Jersey this year as I have to go to Florida that weekend for a family wedding. Of course the club I am a member of - Quaker City - gave up their independent specialty a couple of years ago because we were losing so much money. Our specialty is in with Bryn Mawr KC on Saturday June 13th - hoping we get a decent entry but who knows anymore!

WD BOW from Bred By.. Congratulations… can’t wait to see photos. :)
AS for the show, we hear nothing but great things about it… and about the people putting it on. I love the area, Arthur went to medical school in Maryland... it will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you for your very kind words! We aren't a huge club and we work very hard to try to offer a good show. I arrived at 7:15 a.m. to help set up, then stewarded rally, obedience and conformation. All three venues were held in one ring this year which made things a bit easier for us workers, plus it gave our attendees a single location to watch and show their dogs.
Our show chair, Lyn Kargaard (www.vikingdobermans.com), does a super, super job for us. Be sure to read her tracking blog if you visit her site - Charlie is one outstanding red boy and I do love to follow their adventures :)
I believe Lyn or Mariann will be posting all the show results soon. Thank you to everyone who supported our show and I hope you did enjoy yourselves. We would welcome any feedback that you'd like to give us about the show - what was good, what was bad, we'd like to hear it.
Thank you!

Oh I love Charlie - I remember watching him when he was showing :-)
As far as size of clubs, I think most of them are pretty small. We have just a handful of really active members and we all wear several hats - I wear recording secretary, WAE chair, and rescue liaison myself - LOL!
The show was really very nice - easy to get to, great shopping, plenty of crating ......... good friends - really I can't ask for more!
