With all the hubbub about the swine/avain flu which is marching across our borders, and by now has saunteted right through the TSA check stations...its a good time to revisit our household emergency plans. We always think about it when we think about fire, hurricane, or flood, but we must consider all we might need, should (God forbid) we experience a month when no one goes in to work to avoid the disease. No utilites, no grocery stores, no petco, no vets, no starbucks (okay, I can live without that, but tungsten weeps when I mention the 'no dairy queen' clause.). Its always a good idea to have a water puification system (the hand pump kind) and enough essential meds. But sometimes we forget about fido and kitty and even mr. Ed. It may not be here, or even coming. But its nice to think we are at least a tad prepared should it happen. Right?

... enough essential meds...

Hmm, good thought. I've been getting Will's meds about every 2 weeks: guess I need to ask the vet about bumping it up to a month.

Found an very interesting site with disaster survival ideas/tips here: http://zombiehunters.org/forum/index.php. Ignore the 'tacti-cool' stuff, and see what folks are coming up with for 'buggin in', aka staying home til merde on air dispersion device has dissipated.

Great idea Brenna... but a month of grain is a bit like bait for the field mice, who in turn are bait for the snakes... :( So, I'll store it all at your house. :) Yes?

This is a story that we need to track and keep on top of. I went out and bought a months supply of Root Beer and Ice cream... but then I realzed that the two combined to make Root Beer Floats, so now I'm 10 pounds heavier and out of ice cream. :p

Okay, that's not funny...
