Regretfully Phoebe lost her sweet Mandy last night.
Phoebe is one of Bob's and my wonderful puppy owners and a member of DSNN.
I will let Phoebe give details if she wants, but will say that Phoebe opened her heart and home to this lovely Goldie girl a few years ago and made her safe and loved.
When Phoebe brought Lincoln home ( Blackwood's Demons Dreamin') Mandy welcomed him and was his friend from the minute he put his big paws on her.
Putting up with his puppy boy silliness and being his tolerant teacher.
I believe that there is nothing better then a " mature" lady to teach a young pup the ropes...she was wonderful!

Peace be with you Mandy.

Cheryl, Bob , and ANdy -

Thanks so much for the kind words...it always helps in an extremely difficult time. Mandy was the best "mother" to Lincoln if there ever was one...she put up with way too much of his crap!!, never correcting him once - LOL what a kind soul. We will miss her greatly. One of my most treasured pictures is from the day we brought Lincoln home, he made himself right at home and went to lay between her front and back paws in a huge nest of goldie fur - like hi you are my new best friend!. I was going to upload it but the file was too big. So cute. Again, thanks...there is a big empty space at the house now.

Phoebe,

I am so sorry to hear of you loss. It is never easy to let a loved one go. Our dogs give their whole hearts to us, every single day. Theirs is the purest form of love… it is total and complete, without any expectations in return, reflecting back the very best of us. Our precious dogs become so much a part of our lives that the grief when they leave us can be overwhelming. You and Mandy are in my thoughts and prayers, I wish you peace… time will heal the ache… and her memory will shine on forever. Email me the photos and I will post them for you... logresfarm@hotmail.com I would love to see as many as you'd like to send... and give Lincoln a kiss from grandma.

We are truly sorry for your loss. It is never, ever easy no matter what the reason and what their age is, it always breaks our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Mandy sounds like she was a gentle soul and is now a gentle angel watching over you and directing Lincoln from the bridge.

God Speed sweet Mandy

Pheobe,

There is nothing we can say to ease the pain.. only time will do that. You have wonderful memories of a sweet girl that you will always cherish. Your Mandy reminds me of our wonderful Blondie, a yellow Lab. She helped raise the kids and when they were grown, helped raise my first Doberman. I know that Ralph's sweet temperament comes, in part, from the nurturing she got from Blondie.. A part of Blondie lives on in Ralph. I am sure you will see the same thing in Lincoln and you will love him even more.

God speed Mandy... you are a very special angel.

Betty, Ralph and Aunt Halla

I adore this picture. It was one of the first ones Phoebe sent after Lincoln went home.
It gave me the most wonderful sense that he was definately in the right home. Not only did Phoebe and Mike love him, so did Mandy.

Hi Phoebe,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I love the photo of Mandy and Lincoln! She has such a sweet, wise, old face. Really awesome that she was there to welcome Lincoln to the family and there will forever be a connection to him! He was sent to take care of you, and Mandy will watch over him from above.

Love from Tina and Uncle Contender :):)

The dog body is only a vessel for a beautiful soul. We should all be reminded of how brief a lifetime is, and to appreciate EVERY second we have with those we love. But the best part is that they leave a carrier for their soul here, and your little Lincoln was present for the Soul Fetch. Mandy awaits in a place without time....

All of your messages have meant more than you know...it is nice to talk to "dog people". I like knowing that she was my "bridge" to Lincoln and a part of her will always be with him. THanks again.
