I just got this from Tracy...

Jason and I were on our way back from the dog show and we noticed an SUV in front of us. This is a sight that I COULD NOT BELIEVE. The couple looked to be in their early 50's and apparently felt that the shirts hanging in the back seat were more important than their dogs life. This was INFURIATING.....the weather was sun then patches of rain with the temps in the mid to upper 80's. All the while the dog is breathing this car's exhaust. People that think this crap is okay does not deserve dogs.

I am not sure exactly how to react without offending a lot of people.
i will just say, the stupidity of humans knows no bounds it appears.

Amazing.

That is completely insane. At least put the guy on top so he stands somewhat of a chance in a rear end collision. Or better yet.....throw the "precious" cargo in the crate and let the dog ride in safety.

The crate has a safety cable around it in addition to the straps, has C-clamps to prevent the door from opening, and has a piece of rubber on the side. A lot of thought was put into this setup. These owners are not lacking intelligence, they simply don't care about the dog's safety.

Assholes.

Who wants to chip in on a license plate search???? They aren't free.

Instead of doing a License Plate search simply take the information that is here are report the person to the ASPCA. I'm sure you will get the same results and it won't cost a dime. That to me seems like the best way to handle something like this. Am I wrong?

Hopefully they handle it.

and I thought New Mexicans were redneck...

can't tell what breed, anybody got better resolution than i? not that breed matters, just wondering.

fwiw, the 'cargo area' in a Liberty doesn't even hold two roll-on luggage bags. rented one in Austin w/a work buddy & had to put some of our gear on the rear seat.

To be sure, we're (DSNN) the kind of people who buy vehicles to keep our dogs comfortable, but....

sick. this is like the people who tie down open wire crates in the back of pick up trucks...I hate that as well. As for the breed, to me it looks like a "Doodle".
