Forum Guidelines - Be civil. If possible, be articulate.
Issues are complex; good people often disagree. Vigorous debate is useful, challenging the “deep slumber of decided opinion,” so by all means, feel free to disagree. When possible ground your point of view in quoted source material. When you are expressing “an opinion” say so, and remember, opinions are not fact.
DSNN believes that nothing is gained by intrusive editing or artificially terminating discussion. If you have more to say; say it! If you have a response; respond! Clarification of a point may take more than one post. A given thread may raise substantive collateral issues. You are encouraged to respond.
However, personal attacks are unproductive. They have no place on a DSNN. Therefore, if, at the soul discretion of DSNN, a post is not on point and/or is not relevant to any legitimate point, the post will be removed or set aside as an example of what not to post.
DSNN does not edit posts for content. Objectionable posts will be deleted in their entirety.
We are not attorneys or babysitters. Posters are responsible for defamatory and/or libelous statements. Posts containing obvious defamation and/or libel will be deleted.
DSNN encourages posters to IDENTIFY the point they are trying to make and include said point as the title of their post.
DSNN makes no representations what-so-ever about the accuracy of statements made. Each poster is responsible for the posts they make. Be aware, this board is open to millions of people with diverse experiences and opinions. If, based upon your knowledge and/or experience, a statement made is false, inaccurate and/or misleading, you are encouraged to respond. And please note, the mere fact that no one has contradicted a post is entirely unrelated to facts and objective truth.
Also, try to remember that the fact you think the person expressing an opposing opinion is a fanged, horn-tailed raging bitch is really not relevant to the point being made. And, while extremely satisfying, profanity is always less preferable to expressing yourself articulately. Try to avoid profanity... it just ain’t nice. For the most part - rest assured, when you really mean “F#ck off and die you stupid bitch,” the reader gets it, whether you expressly say so or not. Trust me, it’s assumed.
And finally, while it’s great fun to sign up as an alias… be aware it may backfire on you.
One-more thing, DSNN retains all rights to this stuff, including all copyrights. Lucky us.
