As many of you know, Tom and E2 have purchased a home ( a second home/ vacation home) here in Carthage... about 4 minutes door-to-door from me. Can't wait till they come down... they're expected soon, and when they arrive, they'll find they have a new neighbor....
this is Rosie, foaled July 29th.

Rosie’s mom is an APHA mare… Rosie’s sire was supposed to be a Thoroughbred. Somewhere along the way things got screwed up… or someone wasn’t reading the Breed Standard. :D http://i394.photobucket.com/albums/pp21/logresfarm/Rosie2.jpg

Rosie is a MULE... one of the prettiest Mules I've ever seen... a sweet little doll (and this means that dad was a Donkey).

She is owned and loved by a boarder at Tallgrass Farm, which is a lovely 100 acre farm adjoining E2's new home.

This is Rosie out this morning with her mom and a pasture mate (and "No," that is not one of our Pinto mares in the background :p)

Tom and E's home is about 1000 feet beyond that horse trailer... through the trees, across a pasture... past a pond, through another stand of trees... and TA DAH!!! There's home!!!

Wow that is a beautiful farm. Rosie is just adorable and I can see E#2 taking lots and lots of pictures of her and everywhere around her new home.

They say there are three things to consider when purchasing real estate: location, location and location. E2 and Tom seem to have hit all three dead on. They have the best of all worlds. They live near a 100 acre horse farm that is maintained like a golf course… it’s absolutely beautiful all year round… and yet they don’t have to lift even a finger to mow, feed or muck stalls.
Doesn’t get much better than that! :)

A lot of you might not know that E2 is an accomplished equestrian... but she is! I was able to snap this photo of her out riding this morning with her new neighbor.

What is the name of Rosie's coloring? The horse folks out here are big on gruella's right now, and she looks to be a dark version of that.
Will she become lighter as she matures?
She's adorable.... what a face.

With all that fantastic space, she could build a dorm and have a facility for training all of us the Gravelle Method of handling! Just what I've been waiting for!!! And it looks like those skills will transfer to my equestrianship flat work! I am SOOOOO excited! When will the first semester of classes start?! Actually, its beautiful. If I could move there you would have two asses outstanding (forgive the pun) in their field! Łosie would be the cute one....

I’ve seen all sorts of colors of Donkeys, but most every Mule I’ve ever seen has been the same color… so maybe it’s called “Mule Colored.”
