Should people show at their own shows.
If you’re a guy, let’s say your name is Bob, and you’re on the Show Committee of an All Breed show, and/or have been for years, to the point where a circuit is known as “Bob’s Circuit” ... should you show at one of the shows on Bob's circuit?

Let's say that it's this show:
Hendersonville Kennel Club - Saturday 07/25/2009 http://www.infodog.com/RESULTS/2009061303/200906130334200.HTM
and this bitch: she won a 4pt major:
52 MISTEL'S INCENDIARY . WS 19246203. 09-21-06 By Ch Foxfire's Magic Dragon - Ch Mistel's Moxie Merrimac.
Owner: Shani St John., Lawrenceville, GA 300458613. Breeder: Mistel Bob & Nancy Vandiver.
Notice that only Shani St. John is listed as the owner. IN recent shows all three: Shani, and Bob and Nancy Vandiver were listed as owners.
We called AKC after this 7/25/09 show. AKC said that according to them, all three people, Shani, Bob and Nancy, are on as owners and that the bitch is therefore mis-entered. In the past we'd always heard that if you did stuff like this, mis-entering a dog, and AKC found about it, they took the win away. Now-a-days who knows what AKC will do.

No, it is a conflict of interest.

At the very least, it looks tacky... it leaves the impression of impropriety.
Since AKC said - AFTER the show where the bitch one the 4pt major- that Bob Vandiver's name was still on the bitch as an owner (along with his wife). It looks odd that Bob's name was not on her in the catalog at his shows.
You might ask... how many judging assignments changed hands with this major, eithr now or in the future? Is this how we should all finish our dogs. I'll get Bozo the Clown an assignment (or get a friend to get him an assignment) in exchange for my dog winning a major somewhere down the line. One good reason that people should not show at their own shows is that it leaves the impression of impropriety. Heck, how hard is it to win if I pick the judges? I can see not wanting my name on an exhibit entered ar my show. It looks really "odd" if I win.
This would all go away fast if the AKC randomly picked our judging panels from a pool. If the Bob's of the world can not be connected with handing out Judging Assignments, the impression of impropriety would never be an issue.
Bottom line, if I were new to the sport, and saw that Bob's name is on the bitch up until shows that are widely considered to be Bob's shows, and then his name is suddenly off the bitch, even though AKC says he still owns her, I would form a very negative impression of Dog Shows.
