got this last night from Jerri
Moses was loyal to the last beat of his heart, which failed this afternoon.I can't imagine life without him. Jerri
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

Mo was an extraordinary guy. Extraordinary service dog, extraordinary friend. He accepted life with grace and charm. He will be missed by his human friends, family, and his littermate sister. Godspeed Mozer-Bo. Enjoy yourself on God's Sofa.:(

Once upon a time, Brenna gave me a call.
"you'll never guess what I've got in the kitchen" 'squeak, squeel, mmmph, mmphf, bumpity' in the background.
Um, puppies?? sez I.
"Why yes!" sez she "And you'll never guess what their names are".
Okay, sez me, thinking about the Biblical litters, the weather litter, and having absolutely NO idea, other than there would be no "Charmin" in the litter. What are they?
"Well, there's Logan, and Will, and Faith, and Moses (and one or more I never met, so don't remember)".
WHAT!!??! sez I, You have a Moses puppy??? (I have a special spot for that name, somewhere very near my motorbike). So in my heart of hearts, I thought that Mo-mo would become my man, what with Lou having passed almost a year prior to his birth.
Well, I was wrong, and I got mr Mouthy Logan instead, and he & Will had puppy playdates, which became puppy sleepovers, which became Doberhostel in the mountains where mom's come & go but the dobers are always home.
Then I got another call from Brenna: "Can you meet me as I blow through town, snag Mo & keep him a nite or two then get him to (location) where (somebody's son) will be taking him to Jerri?"
Of course, sez I, hostess of the Ysirri Doberhostel, naturally I can.
Needless to say, if you haven't seen the traveling Dobershow that is Brenna & her 4 leggeds, you gotta put it on your bucket list. Add her mom & recently college-graduminated brother & it's even better.
Moses came to my car like the gentleman that he was, having met me only once before. We had a pleasant evening together, and he respected Logan's space, but didn't allow himself to be bullied. When it was time to meet his next chauffer he went willingly with them, and added to Jerri's life.
There's been discussions about who choses the puppy for the future family, and having met most of Logan's litter (as well as Nyx's litter, and Lou's litter), I am a strong supporter in the BREEDER choosing. It's not about the dog, or the future family, it's about how they fit together.
Having seen Will again in the past month or so, with Jerri, he was her Mr Man, and took his responsibilities seriously. Then when the harness came off, he was a happy goofy doberboy.
As I told Jerri, I'm just so happy I got to see him again, and I'm sad he's gone. :(
